Jesse was making breakfast for a change and I smiled, waking up to the smell of cinnamon and vanilla. Quickly brushing my teeth and taking a quick shower, I walked out to find Jesse frowning at his phone as he sipped from his coffee mug, my perfect looking breakfast waiting for me on the other side of the table."Wow, you didn't burn the place down. Good job." I teased nudging his foot. He rolled his eyes and told me to shut up and eat. After I was full and Jesse softly muttering curse words under his breath, I finally asked him what was working him up so early in the morning. He glanced at me, as if realizing I was here and shook his head, tucking his phone into his pocket.
"Work stuff. Well, boxing stuff. Some guy got injured at one of his matches and isn't going to be competing this year after all." He explained, a sort of glossy look covering his eyes.
"And that's a bad thing or a good one?" I asked taking a bite of my eggs. They were a little too salty but I didn't mind.
"Bad. Very bad. If he ends up winning next week's round and somehow gets around getting his parole officer to let him leave house arrest..." Jesse trailed off, the frown returning.
"Are you worried you won't beat him?" I asked. He scoffed and shook his head.
"I'd beat him, easily. That's not the problem though." He sighed looking annoyed as he pulled out his phone again. I decided to let him deal with it himself and picked up my plate and his mug before starting on the dishes.
I glanced at the clock and saw that it was time for my medication. Finishing up, I scurried to my room to get my hundred bottles of pills and carefully took out the amount I was supposed to take. I was struggling to open a water bottle when Jesse passed by.
"Can you open this for me?" I asked handing him the stubborn bottle. Jesse still looked distracted, the frown between his brows looking permanent. The bottle proved to be difficult for him to open too and he made an annoyed noise, growing even more impatient. He finally opened the bottle but accidently knocked over some of my medication while doing so.
"I got it." He said, gathering the blue pills into his hand before laying them on the counter with a grossed out look on his face.
"Do you have to take all this medication?" Jesse asked as if I were forcing him to take them.
"Yes, doctors orders." I replied putting the amount I needed onto the counter again before returning the excess into the bottle.
"Do you always listen to what the doctor says?" He mumbled. I glance at him taken aback.
"They are doctors for a reason Jesse. Of course I listen to what they say."
"You don't have to take those pills. You haven't complained about a headache for weeks now and it's not like it's helping you remember anything."
I clenched my teeth, annoyed.
"I'm not having headaches because I am taking the pills and I'm sorry for not magically remembering everything." I snapped. He stared at me, the frown still on his face when he replied.
"Calm down. All I said is that you don't have to be taking all those pills at once like some addict. I doubt they actually work." He stared at me, the frown still on his face. I was getting pissed off now and knew whatever was bothering him earlier was making him act like this.
"Whatever Jesse. It's not like you went to med school." I muttered angrily turning my back to him as I took my pills. He must have went to his room because he came out, slamming the door behind him.
"What is your problem today? You're going to wake everyone up, stop slamming the doors!" I turned to face him, pissed off now.
"Don't tell me what to do." He snapped.
