Ironically, despite most people's claims, there are none.
Not a single rule that has to be followed in order for a story/character to be considered as a creepypasta.
The only things that are consistent is the fact that murder/harm has to befall anyone who pisses off the character.
Sure there's a limit to imagination, but at this point, everyone knows everything is super fake, and those who don't, are in actual need of literal help. Soooooo, I don't see the point in why every once in a while people will scream about the amount of violence and gore and how that isn't scary.
I think everyone knows that. It's obvious, no one is thinking, 'Oh no (Creepypasta oc) has just brutally stabbed and maimed one of their bullies, how terrifying!'
No one really thinks this is good writing, if they do they are either 1.) Trolling, or 2.) Just a beginning writer.
So to reiterate, there are no rules to Creepypasta, but there are rules to writing and those are the ones that are important.

FanfictionHow many of these books exist? Too many to count. Why am I writing this? Because I obviously have a lot of thoughts and opinions. Will there be cussing? Probably, but it'll be kept to a minimum. Will someone be offended? Shit, I hope not.
