The Kastoway/Grisgrisdoll Drama

If you haven't heard, here's the news:

Apparently the creator of TicciTobi has come back, but not to rejoin the fandom, but to remove TicciTobi from the Creepypasta fandom all together!!!

As you can see that is an issue, especially since Kastoway left the fandom in 2015/16, but allowed usage of Tobi as long as they were credited among other things so this sudden comeback to tell people to stop using Tobi was not without backlash.

Technically, there are two vocal sides in the fandom. 

The one that wants to respect Kastoway's decisions and want to remove Tobi from the fandom.

The other being those who do not and want to continue using Tobi as he is a comfort character of theirs and they see no need to stop using him. Especially since the creator left and basically gave him to the fandom.

Personally, I fall in the second group since the creator left and told the fandom that they can use Tobi. So in my opinion they can't just backtrack and try to copyright and, in subtle ways, guilt trip people into giving up the character. 

But as someone who makes things, I can understand why the first group exist.

There are also other contested reasons as to why people will argue the usage of Tobi. Example being the possible idea that Tobi is a trauma OC for Kastoway and by cosplaying him, you are cosplaying their trauma (the most popularly contested augment).

Now Kastoway has made other statements about how them copyrighting is to stop the sell of bootleg merch that features Tobi however they still mention that they don't like the fact that people are still making fanart/cosplaying/or writing fanfiction of him which honestly?

I don't really understand. I also know they plan on rebooting him, but why do they want to remove him from the fandom so badly and after so long of them having left the fandom behind?

There are some other details about them being... weird (nicest way I could think to put it) about people who have DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and have Tobi in their system as an alter and I can't really speak on it, but I can imagine it wasn't the best.

Either way in my opinion, I think they should just drop the whole trying to get the fandom to let go of Tobi, make their reboot (since I believe that is separate from the fandom anyway), and we all continue on our way.
