After dinner was over I sent Mia to relax and watch movies with Vince while I took care of clean up for the night. She normally has to clean up after all of these knuckleheads so I will help out wherever I can now that I'm back. Technically speaking it used to be both of us but after I left it was all up to her. Now, we're back to sharing cleaning duties.
"Need a hand with anything else?" Brian asked as he walked in with some more plates while I washed dishes.
"No, I'm good. You can go join the boys and watch the movie." I told him.
"Well you see, the cook doesn't clean where I come from." he said.
"I'd like to go there, I'm sure Mia would too."
"Mia isn't the one I'm interested in." he said bluntly.
"Is that so?" I asked, turning to look at him.
"Yeah it is, I think we should go out sometime."
"No . . . no, I don't date my cousin's friends. I learned the hard way that - it's not a good idea." I told him, immediately regretting it.
"That sucks, I guess I'll have to kick his ass then."
"You've got balls man, I'd love to see that happen. I would pay to see that one, actually."
"I could figure out a way to make it happen."
"Let me know if you do, like I said, I'd pay to see that happen."
"Not what I was referring to." he said with a smile.
"Wash my car when you get done." Vince said suddenly.
"What the hell was that?" I asked, doing a 180 angrily.
"No Charlie, I'm talking to the punk, and wear your favorite dress 'cause when you're done I'm putting you on the street where you belong, cutie. Is this thing broken? What's wrong with this thing?" he asked, banging on the microwave.
His childishness is really irritating, I mean he definitely needs to grow the fuck up. I honestly don't understand what his problem is and this is out of hand.
"Hey Vince . . . V, what was that Cuban restaurant that you wanted to take me to for my welcome home little sis dinner? The one with the picadillo and . . ."
"With the red candles and wooden tables." he said with a big smile.
"Yeah, the sweet plantains, food all over the place. What's it called?" I asked.
"Cha Cha Cha." he replied.
"Yeah, that's it." I said.
"Yeah."
"Well you can take me there, Brian. Friday night at 9, is that good for you?" I asked him, turning to look him dead in the eyes.
"Yeah, it's perfect." Brian said with a smile, before turning to look at Vince.
"Good." I replied.
The look on Vince's face was mutinous but I'm not gonna let him get away with acting like this around me. Everyone else can deal with it if they want to but not me, his bad attitude and childlike mannerisms are driving me batshit crazy. He slammed into the door before going back to the living room.
"No popcorn?" I heard Jesse ask.
"Make your own goddamn popcorn!" Vince growled in response.
Feeling bad for my little boy genius I nuked the popcorn for him while Brian just watched me with a curious look.
"What? Regretting asking me out already?" I asked him, smiling to mask the hurt.
"Not at all, just a little curious about what just happened. There's no way that I'm throwing out a date with you." he replied.
