12 : Dad vs Logan

"Amy, don't worry, please!" I pleaded.

"I can manage on my own." I said sternly.
I knew that she was emotionally stressed but I didn't want to put her in danger while planning my escape with her.

I'd escape on my own when I had the chance and courage to. Yes, that was my plan.
Is it? Fiona questioned.
Definitely.
Why are you so hesitant then?
I shut her out.
There was time to think about my wavering feelings later.

"Lauren, hun-"
"Amy, trust me! I am an adult I can handle my mate." I urged.
I felt like this conversation is leading to a totally different direction...
Amy looked down on her lap, her lip was trembling. "I can't-" she whispered before she was interrupted by our door being forcefully crashed.

"LAUREN!" my Dad shouted storming into the living room, standin still on a spot as if sniffing a scent.
"Dad!" I jumped up and looked at him.
The man standing in front of me seemed to have aged 5 years since I last saw him.
"Are you alright?" he cupped my face in his swollen palms.
I nodded. My teary eyes were proof enough for him. Dad hugged me.
"Your scent has changed-" Dad looked as if he was sniffing something unpleasant.
That was when someone behind him cleared his throat.

Logan stood in the doorframe. Obviously displeased with the scene in front of him.
"I told you that I wasn't bringing her corpse."
He was surely annoyed.

Dad turned hesitantly around. "You've brought her back alive-"
"Yeah, I did. As annoying she is, she's still my mate and the only one I will ever have."
I bit my lip. Yeah, diplomacy was obviously not his strength.
That's not how you interact with your inlaws." Fiona pouted.
Once and for all: We arent-

"So you marked my daughter?" Dad seemed angry.
"Your daughter is my mate!" Logan snarled.
"That is no reason to force you upon her!" Dad tensed up.
"Who gave you the audacity to accuse me of that?" Logan hollered.

"STOP IT!" I yelled.

"We are not here to fight!"
