"No, you won't!" snarled Logan.

"But he asked for help-" I claimed.

"Doesn't matter you'll stay with me!" Logan roared.

I shook my head determined "Listen, I am willing to help an old man in need, it's my duty as a luna to take care of my pack members. I don't care about your motives." I insisted.

"Brother, listen to-" Gavin tried to negotiate.

"We'll go together. You won't leave anywhere alone, understood?" Logan bellowed.

Am I a kid?

"Stop manhandling me!" I said.

"Have you understood?" he asked furiously his green eyes had a dangerous glint in them.

I sighed. Well, it was a compromise wasn't it? From "you're not going" to "we're going together".

"I understood clearly, alpha." I murmured.

After the terrible breakfast I decided to visit Alice who was very close to the impending birth, which was why Logan allowed his beta Chris to stay at home with his mate.

"How's life as the luna?" Alice breathed into her spinach smoothie. She had really weird cravings.

"It's hectic. But it's a very fulfilling job." I smiled. I wanted to waste no breath on today's upsetting morning. "Fulfilling job. You're the first one I ever heard saying being the luna is fulfilling." Chris laughed from across the room making the weird smoothies Alice craved for. These two are really couple goals. Would Logan ever make me something I crave for when I am with his child, I wonder? Urgghh, what am I thinking....

"Mhm, it really is great to have an immediate feedback of the work I do. Making sure every pack member can live in peace with a bright future ahead." I said dreamily. "Earth to Lauren!" Alice called. "Being the luna is not all good, you've to bear a lot of responsibilities and especially bear with Logan's enemies. You do know that you're their first target, don't you?" Alice asked worriedly. "Mhm, but I trust our security." I smiled. Of course I was aware of the constant danger I was in. But why worrying about something that couldn't be changed?

I'd rather get used to it.

There also espeacially trained wolves who are constantly near the packhouse ensuring everyone's well being. I was sure Logan trained them well.

Alice sighed "Hopeless optimist." was all she had to say.

"When are you due?" I changed the topic before I had to hear one of her long ramblings. "This week or the following." Alice answered nervously. "I can't wait." I laughed. "Yeah, we're looking forward to it." Alice smiled looking at her mate lovingly before grinning mischievously. "Chris was really absent-minded at work."

"Oh, so that's why Logan send you home." I teased.

I spend some more time at Alice' and Chris' home before deciding to pay Emily a visit. I had secured her a workplace at the workshop of the pack. She seemed more happy being able to do what she wants. The workshop was a little walk away from the packhouse.

"Hey, you okay?" I shouted when I saw her working on a thing I could recognize as an oven. "Lauren." Emily smiled. The girl was working very diligently her master told me. "Of course she is!" I boasted making the girl blush. Actually Emily is older than me but I couldn't help but see her as a little child. "Is everyone nice towards you?" I asked Emily later when we were alone. "Yes, everyone's very nice. I am so thankful for your help." Emily gave me a toothy smile. "Really? If there is anyone troubling you, you can always say that you're friends with the luna." I insisted. Emily was close to tears "I don't know how I can help you..." I just smiled. I am just happy that I could help I am not asking for more so I just told her to come find me if there is something troubling her. The girl was reluctant but I made her pinky promise before I headed back.

On my way back the heat I was feeling today was rising in my body. Weird, I had thought that it was due to the anger I was feeling because of Logan. However it was getting hotter and hotter. That was nothing normal... something was off with my body...

I stopped in my tracks. Oh, no... don't tell me...

Heat. I was in my heat!

What should I do? If Logan knew of this he'd not be able to stop himself... Oh my gosh am I ready?

I looked around I had to get back to the packhouse before... wait. Do I want to get back? Logan might be back and then... aaaahhhh! What am I supposed to do?

I was still thinking about my next steps when Gavin suddenly appeared in front of me. "You what are you-?" he noticed my uncomfortableness. He sniffed the air before his brown eyes glistened dangerously. "Are you in heat, my beauty?" he asked luringly. I shivered his gaze was something I feared. Why was I in a deserted place with that cunning man?

Logan! Please...

I sobbed the heat was so overwhelming. I felt weird a itch in my lower abdomen. This isn't right...

Gavin got closer to me and I backed of instinctively. I don't want him near me. "Please, go away..." I don't feel safe. I just want to hide somewhere now. "Oh, beauty don't you know that she-wolves in heat are the most alluring?" his eyes sparkled darkly.

"No.... go away..." I rasped. A wave of pain washed through my body. The heat was rising again. This is no good...

"Let's get you away from here before you lure more men here..." he said with a creepy smile.

"No... my mate...." I murmured. I don't want to go anywhere. Suddenly Gavin grabbed my arm. twisted it and put a palm over my mouth.

"Aaahhh-nnngggg!" I cried but Gavin ran towards the the opposite direction of the packhouse.

"Logan please... rescue me..."

"Let's see, where I can enjoy you... let's get you out of here...where my useless brother won't find you..." Gavin said possessively groping my breast.

The pain I was feeling was unbearable. I don't want Gavin...

I was almost unconscious to the pain when I heard growling. Loud growling...

Logan? I lifted my numb head.

There he stood all in his fury glory. His black fur was dishevelled and he snarled at the man who had been kidnapping me.

"Brother..." Mace chuckled darkly. "I am afraid you are taking something that's mine..."

Gavin squinted his eyes angrily. "How come you're here already?"

"You're not the fastest, hmh? Neither your brain nor your legs are..." Mace strolled towards us. Gavin snarled at him before he threw me into the air.

Aaaaa!

I was flying through the air and just when I expected to fall onto the ground, Logan had caught me.

I clutched onto the all so familiar body that hugged me. I looked at Logan who had shifted into his human form.

It was just now that I noticed the warriors Logan had brought with him. One of them gave Logan his robe before turning away hastily.

Logan said nothing but his eyes shone dangerously ruby red.
