Running. The cold pavement beneath your feet sent chills up your spine with every step. The sound of boots coming towards you was getting closer. Your breathing getting faster, panic started to set in. You tried to run as fast as your legs could carry you you've been running for days, clothes are tattered, your body bruised, dirt covered your feet. All you wanted was to escape. To be free.
"There she is!" You whipped your head in the direction of the guards voice. Only to be met by a squad of soldiers drawing nearer. You ran off in the opposite direction, hoping to gain more distance. Light. You saw it peeking through the edges of a door. A fearful smile spread across your face. Will you make it? Is this truly happening? Are you really going to be free? You sped up as much as you could, your lungs were burning and your legs ached. You didn't care. You just wanted to be out there.

You pushed the door open, seeing sunlight for the first time in years. It took your eyes a moment to adjust. Then you heard him.
"Don't let her get away! I paid good money for her!" Yelled the man who brandished your back. You clenched your fists and ran, as far to the edge of the floating island as you could. You saw it, the gondolas that brought people to and from this place. So close. Then youre sent flying backward, you've ran into someone. A marine.
You scrambled to your feet, hearing the other guards coming your way. "Please! Help me!" You pleaded to the Marine, tears pricked at the corner of your eyes. Your small hands grabbing at his cape, barely able to hold on out of fear and hunger. The man looked down at you, widening his eyes. He could hear the guards boot falls approaching. He hid you as best he could, making his way to the gondolas. "Leaving already sir?" Asked the ferrymen. "Yes, I just want to get home."
"Where did she go!?" One of the guards yelled, the others looking around frantically.
You pushed yourself as far back in the gondola as you possibly could, not wanting to be found. You felt the gondola begin to descend, the Marine simply put his hand on your head, a wave of reassurance washed over you. You looked up at him, and he gave you the goofiest smile. You couldn't help but cry, you were finally getting away from this awful place. Finally, you could see your real home. Finally, you were free.

You snapped out of your thoughts when you heard one of your crew mates yell, "captain! We'll be docking soon!" "Oh great, we can stock up on supplies. Maybe we'll even see something interesting," you replied. You made your way over to the helm of the massive boat. The smell of seawater and cool breeze of the sea air were all you've ever wanted. To sail, to be a pirate, to be free. And you've finally accomplished it.
The whipping sound of the jolly Roger, seagulls calling out to each other, and the oceans waves crashing against the boat. This really was the pirates life. You hear your navigator, Lin, call out "Land!!" Your crew shouting with joy, finally going to step foot on actual ground for the first time in weeks. You heard your first mate, Ryuko, ask "what type of island is it, Lin?" "It looks like a water island."
Groans filled the ship, making you laugh "oh come on guys! There's still solid ground there!" You called out. As you near the docks, you see there were two ships already docked near by. You look to both, only for a smile to spread across your face. A navy ship with the head of a dog, and a pirate ship with a straw hat clad jolly Roger. What are the odds that they're both here? You made your way off the ship before they're done docking. "Captain!" "Where are you going!?" Called out Miki and Kimi. The ships snipers and also the youngest aboard. "I'm going to see someone I haven't seen in a long time!" You shouted back, running towards town.

You made your way through town, asking locals if they've seen marines in the city. Many of them pointed you in the direction of a small house on the outskirts of town. You made your way there, as you got closer you saw several platoons standing outside the house. When you looked up at the house you saw... a giant hole in the wall.
"Oh boy, looks like he got a little too excited," you sighed. A few soldiers turned towards you after hearing your remark, only to be met with guns shoved in your face.
"Vice Admiral! There's another pirate!" Yelled out a marine to his commanding officer.
"Huh?" You heard the old man, as he poked his head out from behind the wall.
"Ahh, jii-chan, a little help?" You asked, pointing at the rifles surrounding you.
"Well, I didn't expect to see you here! Hey, what do you lot think you're doing!? Get those things out of my granddaughters face!" Yelled out the vice admiral.
"Ehhh!? Another one!?" Not only did you hear the soldiers, but other voices from inside the house. You made your way over, stepping into the house.
"Eh? Granddaughter? Wait! You mean M-!?" The boy in bandages called out, only to freeze when he saw you.
"Long time no see, huh, Luffy?" You said with a small smile on your face. The boy could only sit with a shocked expression on his face. "Well are you gonna keep sitting there or are you going to give your big sister a hug?" You asked, opening your arms waiting for him to return the gesture.
"Mai!!" Luffy yelled, as he ran into your arms. Happily returning the hug.
"What? None for grandpa?" Called out Garp.
"Oh let me hug my cute younger brother for now, jii-chan!" You exclaimed.
"Wait! What is happening!? First we JUST found out Garp is your grandfather, Dragon is your father, and now your telling me that the Captain of the Devil Pirates is your older sister!? What is up with your crazy family!?" Yelled out the orange haired woman.
You looked to to see 9 other people in the room. "Oh, Luffy, is this your crew?" You asked while looking over to him. "Yup! And they're all super strong!" Luffy boasted. "By the way nee-chan, what are you doing hear?" He asked quizzically.
"Oh the crew and I stopped to gather supplies. We're headed for the New World."
