Ch. 24 It's A Pirates Life For Me

  A few weeks have gone by since the night you and Law got engaged. You announced it to the crew once you were well enough to lift your arm without it being sore and they were all very ecstatic. Shachi and Penguin began crying and congratulating, although more like embarrassing for Law, the two of you and went on a rant about how happy and jealous they were to hear the news, Bepo was dancing away at the news, while the rest of the crew decided to host a big banquet on the next island they docked on. It was small and mostly inhabited by other humans, so you were all free to party as you pleased. There was delicious food, lively music, and huge bonfire! Shachi and Penguin challenged you to an eating contest, they wanted to see if you're appetite was as big as you made it out to be. Unfortunately for them, you were on your 15th plate a food as they were starting to hit a food coma at their 8th. Needless to say, they wouldn't dare challenge you again. Sake and other liquors were being served throughout the night, making everyone more confident and dumb as the night went on. There was even a decently sized "band," if you can even call it that. Just 6 people beating away at conga drums and tambourines, playing a violin and a guitar, and there was even someone playing a flute! You were originally dancing around the fire with Shachi and Penguin while Law just looked on at you. You were throwing your arms in the air, swaying your hips, and your hair seemed as though it was floating around you with every step you took, Law was enjoying the show. You suddenly ran up to him and pulled him out towards the dancing crowd to join in on the fun, reluctant at first, but he easily gave in if it meant seeing you smile.
  The banquet was a loud, drunken slur; just as every one should be. Although you couldn't recall a lot of the events that took place, you know that you had tons of fun. Also that the sun was very much disturbing your sleep. You turned over onto your side, trying to get out of the annoying light. You flung your arm over so that it was resting infront of you, once it landed you Hurd a soft 'oof' come from the side you were now facing. You opened your groggy eyes and saw Laws face only a few inches from yours, a soft smile made its way to your lips and you gave him a gentle peck on the corner of his mouth. You suddenly felt a strong arm wrap around your waist, pulling you closer, as well as lazily intertwining his legs with yours. You let out a content sigh and snuggled closer to the man. You both laid there in comfortable silence, at least until you heard someone stumble, crash, and shout out curses in the hallway.
  "You should go check that out," you mumbled out. Law let out a groan.
  "I don't want to.." Law replied, burying his face into the crook of your neck. You chuckled at his behavior.
  "What if they broke something important?" You persisted.
  "Ughhhh…" he begrudgingly let go of you. He sat at the edge of the bed, yawning and scratching the back of his neck. He looked back at you, only to see you covering yourself more with the duvet.
  "Don't rub it.." he grumbled at your behavior. You just gave him a smug look.
  As soon as Law left the room, you began to drift back off to sleep. Then you heard the door slam open to reveal the both Shachi and Penguin yelling out your name. You nearly fell off the bed from how high you jumped at the noise. Your fist clenched over your heart as all you could do was glare daggers at the duo , of course, they didn't pay you any mind.
  "Mai! Listen, we know it's early and everything but we wanted to go over plans for the wedding!" They yelled out excitedly. Plans? You hadn't even begun thinking about it, you were still enjoying just being engaged.
  "I haven't actually thought about it." You stated to the boys. Their faces instantly dropping, a dark cloud looming over them.
  "Hey, hey, don't make those faces," you said as you got out of bed. "If you want to talk about a wedding, we'll talk." To which, they perked up.
  "Also, what was that loud crash earlier?" You questioned.
  "Oh, we had to distract Law so we could get in!" Penguin proudly exclaimed.
  "But, why? It's his wedding too..?" You raised your eyebrows.
  "…"
  "We didn't think about that." They both stated with straight faces. You basically did a spit take at their response.
  "We'll, what's done is done!" Shachi exclaimed. The boys ushered you back to your bed. You took a seat on it, while Shachi sat next to you, and Penguin occupied the chair by the desk. They began to ask you all sorts of questions, from what kind of dress you want to wear, the food that you want, a cake, how many guests, etc. All to which, you didn't really care for. You scrunched up your nose at the thought of wearing a big poofy dress infront of everyone, not because you wouldn't like it but because what if you need to kick someone's ass? It just wasn't very convenient.
  "Is there somewhere in particular you'd want to get married at?" You heard Penguin question. This was the one that really got you thinking, and there were quite a few places you had in mind, only one really stood out to you.
  "In the New World..," you began. "I want to get married close to Ace's grave." You looked at the pair. The two looked at you, a bit shocked at your request.
  "That'll take some time to get there.." Penguin said as he began thinking about all the stops and supply runs they'd have to make.
  "And it takes a few days to get the coating done.." Shachi chimed in.
  You already knew that it would take a number of weeks, even months, until you all made it to the small memorial site, but it's what you set your mind onto.
  "We can do that." The three of you looked at the door to see Law leaning against the threshold, hands in his pockets. You silently stared at him, signaling him to continue speaking.
  "We already made plans to head for the New World, so this doesn't make that much of a detour anyway." He said as he sat next to you.
  "If that's where you want to get married, then so be it." You smiled at the man and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
  "I know I'm being selfish.. but I'm going to ask for one more favor," you said looking Law in the eye.
  "I want it to be small, just the 2 of us and maybe two or three others." You gently grabbed Laws hand.
  "The world doesn't need to know about our marriage yet, as well as where the resting place of my brother is. So I'd like to do it as discreetly as possible." You squeezed Laws hand, hoping that he'd understand what youre asking for.
  "That's fine with me. I'm not one for huge crowds anyways." He smiled warmly at you. Your face erupted into a huge grin, smiling from ear to ear.
  "So.. uhh.. we still get to go to your wedding, right?" You both looked over at Shachi and Penguin as they wore sheepish grins.
  "Sorry, boys, but you already know our plans for when we get to the New World." Law apologized to the now defeated pair.
  "What plans?" You asked.
  "This was before you decided to join us on the ship, I wanted the crew to head towards Zou while I stay behind on a different island gathering intel on Doflamingo." Law explained. Your face made and 'O' shape, as you began to understand what he meant.
  "I read on a News Coo about an abandoned island that Aokiji and Akainu fought on to declare the new Fleet Admiral, maybe we can camp out there?" You mentioned to Law, bring a finger to your chin.
  "We?" Law looked at you curiously.
  "Yes, 'we'," you confirmed. "If we're leaving your crew behind to get married then I'm going to be sticking with you throughout all of your 'detective' work." You explained. "Besides, once we get to fishman island, I know someone there that can help us out in getting to the resting place as well as helping us get officially married without the government having to hear about it." You smirked at Law.
  Law couldn't help but to smirk back, proud of how cunning his future wife could be.
  "We'll, that settles that." Law said as he began to head towards the door again. Grabbing both Shachi and penguins attention, alerting them to begin preparation to start heading to a new island.
  "We're heading to the New World."

A/N: Im so sorry that I've been updating so slowly lately! Weve been busy packing and preparing to move (ヽ´ω') Hopefully things will calm down in the next few weeks!
