Ch. 8 And so it Begins

The day seemed to slowly roll by, it was as if every minute lasted an hour. As the hours passed, everyone began to become more anxious and alert, a battle was about to break out.
"Everyone, get ready to submerge!" Yelled out White Beard. You ran out onto the deck to watch as the crew began to scramble to get this in order to dive, you hadn't noticed before that there was a coating on the ship. You also heard more commotion going on around you, that's when you look up and see a fleet of 43 other pirate ships. You knew how big of an influence White Beard was in the world of pirates, but this really hit you with the realization just how powerful of a figure he truly is. You were just amazed and shocked by how many people were doing this for White Beard, for Ace.
"Don't just stand around, we're about to go under!" Yelled out Marco to your dumbfounded figure. This quickly snapped you out of your thoughts as you made your way to the bow of the ship, preparing for the fight that was about to ensure.
The coating that was on the ship started to inflate, everyone on board were soon surrounded by a giant bubble, that was when you felt the ship begin to dive. You were astonished by what was happening, as a devil fruit user, beneath ocean was unexplored territory. You couldn't help but gasp at the sight, fish and sea creatures of all kinds we're surrounding the ship, swimming by. You marveled at the sight of the schools swimming by, the coral that lay atop The ocean rocks and floor, the sea Kings, everything was so new and so beautiful. The sight almost made you forget about what was to come, almost.
"Oh yeah, this is the first time you've ever seen something likes this, right?" Marco approached you with hands in his pocket. You turned towards him, worry eminent on your face. He sighed, "I know, we're all worried about Ace. He's our family too. Just for the time being, enjoy what you're seeing."
"I know, I am grateful to see this and for you all to let me come with.. but it's just hard. It's my little brother.." you couldn't help but to look down, thousands of thoughts and scenarios raced through your mind, but there was one question that kept coming back to you. 'Why is it him?'

The rest of the way there was spent going over strategy and formations. White Beard was adamant that the Moby Dick springs forth right in the middle of the HQs bay. You had no problem with this as this was a step closer to getting Ace back. You heard Vista yell out that they will be approaching the bay in a few minutes, everyone began to get into positions.
You looked around at the other ships, you saw that we're all about to ascend back to the oceans surface. Adrenaline and anxiety began to shoot through your body, you were getting ready for battle, no, a war.
You heard the muffled yelling of marines, questioning how the gates opened and where the Moby Dick would ascend. A loud crash was heard as the waves dispersed from where the ship emerged.
"You ready, Mai?" You heard White Beard call to you as he made his way to the bow of the ship. "More than ever," you kept pace with the man as you both stood tall, overlooking the sea of marines before you.
"Gurarara..!!" White Beard bellowed out, gaining the attention of the Navy.
"How many decades has it been, Sengoku? My beloved son had better be safe and sound!!" He called to the fleet admiral.
"Just hang in there a little longer, Ace! We're here!" You yelled out.
Ace stared in disbelief, still processing that we were actually there. He then yelled out to us, "Mai!!! Old Man!!!"

"To be invaded so suddenly.." was all Sengoku could muster.
White Beard was the first to make a move, swinging his massive arms back, causing a crack to appear in the air. This was the first time that you have ever seen him use his devil fruit power, but this is far beyond what I could have imagined. He then swung his other arm in the same motion, causing another crack to appear, the sheer force of his power caused a tremor, powerful enough to create huge waves to crash against neighboring navy ships and dispersed out towards the sea.
"Mai.. Pops.. Guys.." you all heard Ace mummer.
"I set out on a whim even though you all warned me not to, so.. Why didn't you just leave me behind??! My own cockiness got me into this mess in the first place!!" Ace yelled towards us, trying his best to get us to leave.
"Nah.." White Beard calmly replied. "I was the one who told you to go, son."
"Liar!!" Ace retaliated. "Don't screw around with me! You stopped me back then but I still..!"
"I told you to go, isn't that right, Marco?" White Beard called to Marco.
"Yep, I sure heard that, eh." He replied nonchalantly, "you sure caused us a lot of trouble, Ace!"
"Everyone on the sea knows well! What happens to them if they lay a finger on a member of our crew! We won't let anyone who hurts you get away with it alive, Ace! Just you wait! We're going to save you!" Marco let out, causing the rest of us to uproar along side him.
"So prepare yourselves, Marine HQ!"
Suddenly, a rumbling began to surround all of us in the bay. People looked around, trying to find it's source seeing a tsunami coming back when Sengoku yelled a warning to his men.
"Don't go thinking that we can overcome him with sheer military force! We might actually be the ones to meet our end.. that man, Edward Newgate.. holds the power to destroy the world!"

A/N: I apologize for the long wait! I've been dealing with some family stuff but it all seems to be calming down, hopefully I can start working hard on the story again!
