It was a hot summer day in Echo Creek. Marco and Star were walking down the street. They walked past a pet store. There were puppies barking and scratching at the window. This caught Star's attention which caused her to stop and look at the puppies through the glass.
"Awww they look so cute!"
Marco stopped. "Hey, they do look kind of cute."
"Can we get one?"
"No Star we have puppies at home why do you want more?"
She pointed at a small brown miniature dachshund licking the window. "But look at him, he wants to be free Marco! We have to let him out!"
"I said no!" He yelled at Star who now began to cry.
"I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell." He hugged her.
She looked up at him amd turned away. He couldn't bare to see her upset. So he decided to do something about it.
"I understand if you don't wanna forgive me but here's something I should do."
He walked away leaving Star alone. She turned back but didn't see him. She started calling his name.
"Marco! Where are you?"
There was no answer. She looked for him everywhere but didn't find him. She then saw him come out from the pet store with his hands behind his back.
"Marco what are you-"
"Close your eyes."
She closed her eyes as he walked towards her. He took out her hands placing something warm and furry in her arms. It started to squirm and whimper.
"Now open them."
She opened her eyes facing the dachshund. She screamed as she put the puppy down and squeezed Marco.
"Thank you thank you thank you!"
"You're welcome!"
She let go of him. Her smile exchanged from a smile to a frown. "I'm sorry I didn't forgive you."
"It's ok, I forgive you anyways."
She smiled and hugged him. "I love you." He blushed and hugged her back. "I love you too."
