Chapter 9

"Please be safe Connor..." You said only above a whisper as you looked into Connors chocolate brown eyes. He placed a hand on your cheek gently.

"I promise you I will..." He replied as his thumb stroked your cheek comfortably. You smiled and leaned into his touch.

"I'll see you tomorrow I guess." You said as your gazed moved to the ground. Connor gave you a kiss on the forehead and left out the door. You watched him leave into the taxi and closed the door quickly and ran off to go change quickly. You rushed out the door and got into a taxi telling it to follow the previous taxi that had got here. (See picture above to see your outfit and also get rid of the ugly ass black cuffs on the sleeves)

You kept your distance from Connor in the rain and kept your face hidden from him as well. Once he got off a certain stop, you did as well and continued to follow him. Occasionally you'd hide in ally ways or behind cars in case he turned around and caught you. Though eventually, the two of you reached a boat with the word 'Jericho' on the side of it. He went into an entrance however you went to find a different one and eventually you did and entered the boat a different way. But it almost made you bump into Connor but luckily you didn't. You watched him make his way up and you were about to follow him until you were stopped by an android. "Have you seen Kara?" The little android asked as she looked up at you with sad eyes. You shook your head.

"No... I'm afraid I don't know who Kara is." You replied softly. She frowned a bit but flinched when she felt a hand land on her shoulder. You looked up at the really tall male and stepped back a bit when you saw his intimidating stare.

"Come on Alice... Kara should be back soon from taking with Markus." The make said ushering the small Android away from you. It made your heart swell to see the now three androids treat each other like family. Maybe it was a bad idea to come here just to fuck everything up for all these androids. At the sudden realization that, that exact thing would happen. You made a b-line for the stares and quickly made it to the upper deck. Though you stopped next to the doorway when you heard Connor speak.

"I was sent to take you alive..." He spoke with a serious tone. The color from your face drained but you watched from the window and remained silent and just listened. Markus turned around and looked at Connor with a look of disappointment. Disappointed that Connor was going against his own kind. Disappointed that Connor hadn't realized his true nature. Disappointed... That he hadn't figured out that he himself didn't see he was deviant.

"Why are you doing this?" Markus started as he took a step forward. "Why are you going against your own kind when you can just be free like everyone else?" he finished noticing that connor looked conflicted and even fell silent. "Why be willing to be their plastic toy that only uses you to do their dirty work when your able to be free. To be free to do what YOU want. To live YOUR life?" Markus continued and took another step forward. Connor still didn't move from his position. You showed up in the doorway and Markus glanced at you confused before looking back at Connor. He was about to speak again until you beat him to it.

"Connor this isn't right... Put the gun down." You finally spoke out. Connor flinched at the sound of your voice but didn't move from his position. You moved past him and in front of Markus quickly. He continued to look at you confused but appreciated you defending him. Connors expression softened when he saw you in front of him though hated that he had a gun pointed to you. "Markus is right Connor... So many androids are down there. Happy to be free and happy to be a family with one another." You started as you yourself too in a step closer to the gun. "I saw it myself... A little android girl asking for another android came up to me... The other android she was associated with caught her attention and brought the little girl over to her motherly figure who was also an android..." You added taking another step. "These androids just want to be free...  Live normal lives... Create their own families..." You paused and grabbed the gun and had it pressed to your forehead. "If your so willing to get this job finished... Then shoot me, Connor. Shoot me if this job is so important to you." markus looked shocked.

"You don't need to do th-" you quickly raises a hand up as a sign to make him silent.

"Though keep in mind Connor. If you shoot me and finish the job. Then you just proved Markus' point of just being the humans plastic servant." You started and swallowed hard. "Or... Don't shoot me and that will prove your a deviant and... And it will also prove that... That you love me back... Connor." You finished. Your eyes slowly brimming with tears at this point. Silence fell between the three of you and the longer Connor took, tears began to fall. You were scared shitless of what Connor would do and you were afraid he didn't actually love you and that it was all an act and you'd be let down by an android again and truly never trust them again. Eventually, Connor put down the gun and also had tears in his eyes. You flung your body towards him and hugged him tightly as you let the tears flow. Connor immediately hugged you back. Markus simply smiled at the sweet interaction.

"And here I thought you'd urge him to shoot me... You are human after all." Markus spoke up. You pulled away from Connor and wiped your tears before looking at Markus.

"As much as I distrusted androids... After what I saw downstairs I... I just knew it wasn't right." You started. "And when I saw your speech that you created from the stratford tower I couldn't help but be impressed." You went over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "What your doing Markus, is extraordinary... Your changing the world and leading everyone to something good. I recommend you continue doing what you do. At the route your taking. Your bound to win." You said and smirked. "After all... You have the public opinion on your side by now." Markus smiled at your words and were about to thank you until Connors words made your blood run cold.

"They're coming..." Was all he said. The calm before the storm was now arriving...
