Chapter 10

Your eyes widened at Connors words. "We need to get out of here and fast..." You said as you grabbed Connors hand and made a b-line to find an exit while the FBI had begin to arrive. Markus followed behind you and the three of you met up with three other androids.

"We need to get the other androids to evacuate!" The female exclaimed. The four androids argued while Connor caught your attention. He held your shoulders and turned you to look at him. His brown eyes full of concern.

"You need to get out of here now." Connor spoke softly as he looked you directly in the eyes. You shook your head.

"No I'm not going to go without you." You said grabbing his arms gently.

"And I'm not willing to get you hurt..." He replied in a hushed tone. You chewed your lip in debate. "Please... I'll call you when we find somewhere safe." He told you as he placed a gentle hand on your cheek. You gave a small nod and gave him a quick kiss before parting ways with Connor. He watched you leave and parted with Markus, North, Josh and Simon.

You heard and explosion and turned back to see Jericho in flames. Your heart felt crushed when you saw the boat in flames. You finally looked away and walked away to try and find a place to hide from anyone. You thought you were defeated but your phone began to buzz. You took it out and your heart leaped when you saw the caller ID. You quickly answered the phone and held it up to your ear. "Good. You picked up. We are in the nearest abandoned church... Please get here quick." Connor had spoke out. As soon as he said those words, you quickly exited the abandoned building you were in and made way to the church. It was a bit tricky seeing as how the streets were swarmed by officers. Though once you did reach the church. Androids stared at you as you slowly walked through. Your eyes scanned the place and you eventually found Connor tucked into a corner. Your eyes widened and you smiled. You ran over to Connor. He looked up and smiled as he caught you in his arms in a tight embrace.

"I'm so glad your okay..." You whimpered as you hadn't realized there were tears rolling down your cheeks. Connor let out a small chuckle that you have never heard before.

"I could say the same about you..." He said pulling away a bit and switching the hug to a now passionate kiss.

You pulled away from Connor and couldn't wipe away the smile on your face. Neither could connor though his smile fell seemingly guilty about something. Markus came up to the two of you. "I... I messed everything up... I can understand if you don't want me here." Connor spoke up not making eye contact. Your brows forrowed at his words and you were about to speak up until Markus did.

"Your one of us, Connor. I wouldn't push you away from your own kind." Markus spoke out making Connor smile a little bit. He then turned to you and scanned you. "You have a connection I have never seen before..." he said taking a step towards you. You visibly saw his eyes scan you. "I find it interesting as well...  Your human... Your kind hates us yet you helped us... Why?" He asked greatly confused.

"Your speech really made me think and I saw a android family when I got to Jericho... I've sent the ways androids act and speak and I can tell that they aren't what people think they are. They are more than that and I think it's a beautiful thing from an outside perspective." You spoke out truthfully. Markus gave a small smile.

"You remind me of the man I took care of... It's... Refreshing to hear you say those things." He spoke out. You gave a smile in response and Markus was about to walk away until Connors next words made both you and Markus stop in their tracks.

"I could get more androids..." He said looking up. You and Markus turned your attention to him.

"And how do you plan on doing that?" Markus asked. Connor snapped his head up like he had a light bulb go off in his head.

"The Cyberlife tower... They are expecting me... I can go in and convert all the androids there." He finally spoke up. But you and Markus looked at him in disbelief.

"Connor... That's practically suicide! You can't go there!" You exclaimed with tears brimming your eyes. Connor looked down at the dirtied floor.

"That's a risk I'm willing to take..." He spoke out shattering your heart.

"Alright... Just be careful when going there Connor. I wish you luck." Markus said giving Connor a pat on the shoulder before walking off to check on the others. You let out a sigh and turned to Connor who was already looking at you.

"Just... Promise me you'll be careful..." You spoke out softly as you slowly went up to him and gave him a tight hug. He returned the favor as you buried your face into his chest.

"I will... And I will return to you as quick as I can... I think you should get back to your job while I'm gone... Act like you weren't a part of this." Connor spoke gently into your ear as he rubbed your back gently. You gave a small nod.

"Alright... I will..." You spoke softly pulling away from him. He placed a hand on your cheek and wiped a tear away with his thumb gently.

"I... I love you (Y/n)..." He spoke making your heart leap and you let out a small gasp.

"I love you too Connor..." You replied tearing up more. He pulled you in for a long kiss. More tears streamed down at the sweet embrace. He pulled away a few inches and looked you in the eye.

"I promise you..." Was all he said before leaving in his mission you watched him leave and Markus's voice only grew faint for you as you only hoped the best for Connor.
