One small thing, one big memory

Tick, tick, tick... Somewhere, a clock ticks, replacing the silence of the room.

I couldn't sleep well. Not with the nightmares invading my dreams, keeping me awake every few minutes.

I let I let my hair soak from the shower, not bothering to wipe it dry, letting it drip onto my lap, cold from the shower. Because I hate hot showers.

I decided to stay in my room after breakfast, sitting on the edge of the bed as I look at my surroundings. Ah, ever wondered how wood looks so nice-

"GRAY!" The door slams open, hitting the wall behind it with a loud bang. "Gray, I swear to god if you're not here-

"Oh?"

A boy stands at the door, hair light golden with eyes as green as emeralds. He looks young, probably sixteen, standing with his mouth agape and head tilted. "Holy shit, a guy."

Just as he was about to say something, a familiar hand makes contact with his head. "Ow! What the hell girl-" He curses, stumbling into the room with his hand over his head.

Gray angrily stomps in, hitting the boy once more on the shoulders. "Jeez, Kei you could have at least knocked. What if I was naked in there?"

The boy named Kei snorts, lips curling into a taunting smile. "I thought you were pure. Boy was I ever so wrong."

Gray gasps, sending another smack his way before she stops, hearing me clear my throat. Gray automatically sighs, sending a smile my way. "Reid, this is Kei. Kei, Reid."

I stand as Kei extends an arm, shaking my hand in his. "Relationship status?" He suddenly asks, earning him a fourth smack from Gray.

"Acquaintances." I murmur.

Gray puffs her cheeks, arms crossed against one another. "Friends. We're friends. He's a bit shy." Kei just shrugs, sending a smirk my way before striding out of the room.

"Don't mind him." She murmurs, taking a seat next to me.

"You need to stop locking yourself from the world." She murmurs, despite sounding stern. I lower my gaze, staring at my lap like a child scolded by his mother.

She sees me caress the scars on my wrists, bandages bleeding a dark shade of red.

Then she smiles, pink lips curling upwards as she lets out a little giggle. "Let's have fun today; I'll take you to the funfair."

"Funfair?" I ask, tipping my head.

She looks at me, eyes wide and mouth agape. She hasn't showered and her black hair remains messy from sleep, looking like a bird's nest on her head.

I mentally slap myself for that.

"You don't know what a funfair is?"

I shake my head, inclining a no. "Then I seriously need to take you there. Trust me; it'll be so much fun!"

I groan and run a hand through my hair, letting it stay there in a quaff style. But naturally, it flops back down. "Gray, just because something has the word 'fun' in it doesn't mean I'll have fun."

Seeing her face, lips pouting and eyes pleading, I sigh, groaning out loud. "Fine, fine. If it makes you happy." I mutter, standing on healing legs.

She smiles, showing teeth behind her pink lips. "It makes me really happy!" She chirps, running towards her bedroom for a quick-thirty seconds-shower.
