I do not want to, I do not need to.
Day by day.
The ache grows, the voice whispering louder and louder.
Slowly, slowly, it eats at my sanity.
"Sir?" Slowly, slowly, everything is so painfully slow. "Sir!" The nurse snaps her fingers in front of me, snapping me out of my reverie.
Another month.
Why do the happy memories pass so fast yet the painful ones...?
Why can't time stop? We could stay in our own little bliss bubble. Nothing can interrupt us, nothing to be ruined, nothing to break.
"It's time for your medication." She says sternly, setting a small bag of pills onto the table. I stare at it for too long, earning a smack on the head by the boy.
"Don't even fucking think about it you thot." He scolds, taking out one of the pills and giving the nurse back the others. "Medications are supposed to heal not kill.
"Yer twat."
"What is it with you with thots and twats huh? How do you even know what I'm thinking? Are you a physician? A wizard a magician?" I hiss, quickly biting my tongue afterwards.
My temper has been so bad lately.
"Sorry, Kei..." I murmur, throwing the pill into my mouth. He shakes his head, his hand patting my head. That is, before the nurse nudges him aside.
"No hard feelings, Reid. Gordon Ramsay got me good."
"Gordon who?"
He shakes his head once more, the nurse putting a drip on me. Shit looks like I'm gonna be here for a while.
"Yeah, Gordon no one. Anyways." He begins, rubbing his imaginary beard. "I was thinking of maybe dinner together, once we get out? Ugh, I'm going to miss this luxury.
"Or maybe a picnic. The simple things are sometimes the most memorable. You know?" I sigh, looking up to his bright smile, beaming so bright I'm blinded by it. Over exaggeration is my talent.
"Reid?"
"Please stop spacing out."
I hum out a 'yes?' feeling the foreign sensation of the water pumping into my body. "Thank you." I murmur, the lady before me nodding her head.
"Reid, I—" He begins, stopping midway as she waits for the nurse to leave. But not before scolding me for not drinking enough water.
"Why do you keep on running off every time Gray visits? She's worried for you, you know?" I know.
"She keeps on asking where you were." I know.
"Sometimes she'd search the whole hospital. I know.
"Sometimes she blames herself for something she didn't do" I know.
"Reid, please. At least—at least talk to her. Do you know how much she's crying over you? I'm not saying take responsibility but take responsibility."
No, Kei. Better not get her more involved. Daniel Davidson knows Gray. Daniel Davidson knows her. Daniel Davidson will hurt her.
Daniel Davidson will take her away from me.
So before he does...
But, Gray is leverage. Towards me, and towards herself.
"Kei mama's back—!
