"i can't believe you're making me do this," michael grumbled to charlotte as he got out of the car.

"c'mon, just go grab your mom so we can get to my house, my parents are super excited about meeting you," charlotte rolled her eyes and hurried michael along. michael grumbled a few things before closing the driver side door and walking up to the front door of the house he grew up in. a few moments later a blonde lady appeared with a huge smile on her face. she wrapped her arms around michael and followed him back to his car.

"charlotte, this is my mom, mom, this is charlotte," michael mumbled as both of them got into the car.

"it's so nice to meet you, michael calls me every night and just goes on and on about you. i'm glad that he's found someone he can trust besides luke, i was afraid the two might end up falling in love if you didn't step in. i mean there's nothing wrong with that, but i don't really think either of them are gay and that would just be weird-"

"mom," michael said sternly. the lady rolled her eyes and held her hand out to charlotte. charlotte shook it and nudged michael, giving him a jocular look.

"it's nice to meet you, too. it seems that you're the reason michael and i met, anyway, so thank you," charlotte laughed. michael's mom nodded as michael parked the car.

everybody got out of the car and charlotte bounded up the steps to her house, knocking on the door. charlotte's 16- year-old sister answered the door.

"hey, aubrey," charlotte smiled. aubrey held up a finger to charlotte and turned around.

"mom, charlotte's here," she called and then waved to charlotte.

"please tell me she didn't go all out," charlotte groaned.

"she did," aubrey confirmed and waved to the guests.

"oh, aubs, this is michael - my boyfriend, and this is michael's mom," i introduced both of them. aubrey smiled warmly at michael's mom, but narrowed her eye's at michael.

charlotte led everyone inside which turned out to be a mistake, because all types of mishap were going on inside.

the youngest child - todd - was rolling around on the floor, mona was screaming because "melody wouldn't put barbie princess on". mark was trying to play x-box with sean, while mona was still fighting for "barbie princess". aubrey sighed and shook her head.

"i see why you're not home as often anymore," aubrey joked. aubrey was the only sibling that charlotte ever got along with. aubrey mumbled something and went down the hallway to her and charlotte's bedroom, shutting the door behind her, clearly having no intention of coming out again until dinner.

"why don't we go to the kitchen," charlotte muttered, leading the two into the kitchen where her mother was scurrying around.

"mom," charlotte stopped her and stepped back a bit.

"oh, hello," charlotte's mom smiled brightly at michael and his mom.

"i'm karen," the lady greeted charlotte's mom.

"jane, nice to meet you," she beamed, shaking the woman's hand.

"mom, this is michael, my boyfriend," charlotte pushed michael towards her.

"it's so nice to meet you michael, you seem like a lovely boy," her mom said, shaking his hand, he stayed quiet and stood there awkwardly.

"dinner will be ready soon, why don't you go get the kids," charlotte's mom told her. charlotte nodded and dragged michael into the other room.
