Bucky and Percy

sworn of gluten and men. i regret one of those things.

2 months was all it took for the camp to be fully build.

Arts and crafts, climbing wall, arena, etc. All of it built.

Percy new his way around the camo by heart, knew every tree and nymph, knew every fish and horse, but even then, he felt like something, or someone, was missing.

Bucky walked around with a weight on his shoulders, feeling guilty, percy knew it, knew that bucky looked at every kid and felt responsible.

The day Athena showed up, no one saw her but bucky.

He was in the big house writing down a memory, a bad one, ot was when hudra caught his team during the war, and experimented on him, then steve showed up, in his mucled glory.

He sat at the ping pong table writeing fast, fearful he'll forget, when a womans voice made him jump out of his seat and pull out a gun.

"Hello James-"

And then a gun was aimed strait at her head, she stared down the barrel of it, hands neatly clasped in front of her.

She gave a calm smile, eyes calculating and grey.

She wore a toga under armor, and ancient sandles strapped up to her knees, a spear hung around her waist, her brown hair hung under her helmet, with the waved a hand and disappeared, her red cape settled behind her.

"You must be Athena", he lowered the gun, and jammed it into his waist, then covered it with his shirt.

"You seem defensive", she moved past him and towards the couch, "The gods, are entirety greatful, for you", sje sat down elegantly, bucky stood, crossed his arms and stared.

"The gods... Im not fond if them, currently", she tilted her head and oatted the spot next to herself, "im aware, please sit, I'd like to explain"

"Im fine here"

Her eyes looked him up and down, before she nodded, "the gods are not allowed to habe any sort of contact eith their kids, this rule was made by zues", she clarified.

"But zues turned- Thalia-", he choked on his words briefly, "-into a tree to protect the camp","he never said no gifts, plus, the big three are not allowed to have kids".

Bucky found hinself moving to sit reside her, "but percy-","-was suppose to die by the hand of zues many years ago","but he didn't"

"Because you saved him, James"

Bucky went silent, she out a hand on his cheek fondly, "I've sworn of gluten and men", she stated, and oulled her hand back, "i onky regret one of those things", bucky laughed.

"Saytr, i need to tell you what a saytr is so you can involbe them in camp", she went onto explain what a saytr was and how they could help, the gods had been telling saytrs abiut camp, and the saytrs had been searching for campers.

"There are - more ", he rubbed his neck in stress, "dont the gids know how to keep it in their pants?"

"Unfortunately"

"You too",she looked taken back ,"excuse me?", "you have kids here too, "not nearly as much as hermes!","that reminds me".

Bucky sat up, "hydra was kinda able to sort out whos oarent was who, but some- alot of these kids dont know who their godly parent is, and we have designated cabins, would you perhaps- i dont know, claim them?"

"I'll speak with the council, but alot of gods are much toi lazy and irresponsible for it, I'll see what can be done".

Bucky felt flare of anger, "you had a kid, they got kidnapped and tortured, and you do nothing, and now they're to lazy to even claim them?", athena nodded solumly.

"Its unfortunate-","- as of now, the gids are on my bad side", Bucky snapped, "im doing much more than they ever could for their kids, CLAIM them! Let them know you fucking care", he barked

Athena let out a beaming smile, "I adore you", this made much raise an eyebrow, "you have no reason to help our kids, uet you do because you are a good man, you feel as if you are responsible for them, and you have no ither choice, but its not true, you care deeply for every child here because you understand what its was like to be hydras asset"

Bucky stared blankly, "you love these children as if they we're you own, because you know what its like to be alone and helpless".

"They're not helpless, they are strong, independent kids. Theu build a entire camp in two months ", he said, metal hand balling into a fist, "the campers knkw how to fight, build, be happy, and its just-"

He closed his eyes breifly.

"Children without families are the most vulnerable people in the world"

Athena stared at him in awe, "so you made a family. This camp, these kids, they're a family, and they adore you", she smiled, she suddenly waved her hands and a large book appeared in front of him.

"This is a gift from me, it'll tell you all about demigod dreams, iris messages, ambrosia, necter, monsters, and much much more", she stood and he stood with her, she out a hand on his arm and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"You are the kindest man I've ever met in all my immortal life", she said, "thank you, m'lady", he watched the blush creep onto her cheeks.

Hah. He's still got it, but he was pretty sure annabeth would kill him in his sleep of he flirted with her mom.

Athena waved her hand and iver the fire place, a giant tiger head appeared, and it blinked.

"WHAT THE-"

It rored and bucky tripped over the couch, landing on his ass while athena laughed, holding her sides as bucky got to his feet.

"A- a gift! Oh gods that was funny!", her eyes brimmed with tears, she laughed harder when bucky out a hand on his gun.

"Seymour the leopard head is a gift for you given by Dionysus, its a gift for saving his kids-", she broke off giggling.

Bucky rolled his eyes, "great just what i need, another needy pet", he eyes Seymour, who bared his teeth at him.

Athena turned, and smiled, "I hope to see you soon, James" then she vanished, bucky fell down on the couch in exhaustion

"Yikes", he said and rubbed his face.

The next moring, every student found a gift on their bed, an invisabilty cap, flying shoes, a pen/sword, and gold pack of arrows, tools.

The gods started to claim kids slowly, but not completely.

And then Chiron galloped into their life, with a small saytr named Grover.
