Chapter Thirty : The End .

Gumball's Point of View

- Two Weeks Later -

Ever since we came home from the hospital , two weeks ago , everything seemed to fall into place . For example , that night that we came home from the hospital .. Marshall and Fionna found out that Ariel knew the truth all along , she knew everything about Marshall and her past ; she wasn't upset , angry or devasted .. She was understanding , she was comprehensive and she was calm about the situation . And , that's one of the reasons why I love that little girl so much , even though she's so young .. she acts like a full-on adult when it's required .

As for me , I'm completely fine now . It was really complicated at first , I always had to get Fionna or Marshall to help me out , but everything turned out fine . I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me that I was fully recovered , but he still said that I should take it easy so I won't go into another coma anytime soon .

I know Fionna blames herself for being the reason of my coma , but it's not her fault ; it's completely mine . I was overworking myself till I dropped , I was barely sleeping and I was taking too many energy pills and drinks and it was starting to affect me in a negative way . My entire life has been surrounded around work and My Kingdom , that's why I dedicate so much time and effort on it .. but , a break once in a while doesn't sound that bad .

We've also decided to let Marshall move in with us , again . We all talked about it and it was the most reasonable idea , he can't stay away from his daughter or us . Plus , we really could use the extra set of hands around here ; we're all extremely happy with life , right now . We haven't argued , we haven't cried and we haven't caused another tantrum , which is a good thing for all of us .

I don't know what we're going to do today , it's a nice Saturday and I think Fionna has something planned for all of us , but we don't know what it is and I think it's a surprise . She told us to wait here until six o'clock in the afternoon , it's currently three o'clock and the suspense is killing us all .

She didn't go alone , of course . Cake and Lord Monochromicorn offered to go with her , which is an extremely kind gesture from them . Also , Ariel's sixth birthday is coming up in about a month and everyone is excited about it , we're all planning a surprise birthday party for her and she's not expecting a thing . I know it's a bit early to be planning anything , but that's how I am ; I like to be on time , I like everything to go according to plan , I like everything to be perfect when it concerns a special occasion .

" Daddy , I'm tired of waiting for Mommy " Ariel whines cutely , laying her head back on the couch . Even though Marshall's her real father , she still decides to call me daddy after everything that happened ; I'm not here to brag or anything , but I did help raise her .. so , I think I deserve the title as much as Marshall does . I chuckle at her , as I pull her head back softly . Marshall is currently making up some snacks , we're gonna play some board games to pass the time .

" Marshy , do you need any help ? " Ariel asks cautiously , as she walks towards the kitchen . She sits on the bar-stool in front of the counter , looking at Marshall's every move . Ariel calls him Marshy , but sometimes she calls him daddy , too .. which makes him the happiest guy alive , you could immediately tell because his eyes start to sparkle when she acknowledges him . " Don't worry , hon . I got it but , thanks for your help , sweetheart " Marshall answers respectfully , as he continues cooking .

After three long hours of eating and playing board games , it is finally time to meet up Fionna for her big surprise ; A Banana Guard came to get us , he said that everything was perfect for our arrival . I still don't know what she has in store for us , but that's part of the surprise . We're currently being blindfolded by the Banana Guards , they will lead us to the surprise . I smile as I can hear Ariel giggling to herself , enjoying being blindfolded .

We walked for about five minutes tops , it wasn't that far away from the castle after all . " On the count of three , you can take the blindfold off " Fionna's voice wanders around us , as I smile to myself . I don't know why , but just hearing her voice makes me happy ; and , I don't mean it in a romantic and cheesy way , that's overrated .. I mean it in a loving way , and she knows that .

" 1 , 2 .. 3 ! " We all chant in unison , as we take the blindfold off . We gasp as we see a beautiful sunset looking over the horizon , chairs set up in front of it a big and square table ; it would seem like this was a romantic dinner for two people , but it's not .. it's a loving dinner for a family . I smile as I run up to Fionna , hugging her tightly ; she returns my embrace as I plant a light kiss on her temple . " Get a room , you two ! " Ariel and Marshall shout in unison , giggling to themselves . Everyone chuckles as we sit down , surrounded by our closest friends and families ; Cake , Lord Monochromicorn and their babies are here . Lady Lemongrabs are here , too . LSP , Butterscotch Butler , Ice Queen , etc ..

After a few minutes of eating , talking and spending a fun time together .. Fionna gets up , and clears her throat . Everyone quiets down as they acknowledge her , everyone looks up at her like if she was the Queen of Ooo . I smile as our eyes meet , tears of joy forming on her face . " Thank you all for joining us today " She starts our her speech , as everyone claps in unison . Fionna is very respected in the Candy Kingdom , everyone looks up to her like a hero .. And she is a hero to all of us , I can't imagine my life without her looking out for me . " I'm gonna keep this short , but there is something important I want to announce " She smiles at Marshall , and he nods back ; giving her a sign to continue her speech .

She hesitates before continuing her speech , I look at her and give a reassuring look . She clears her throat one more time , as she says " Well .. I'm pregnant " The room goes silent for a few seconds , before it erupts into cheers , claps , laughs , cries , and smiles . I gasp as she runs to my side , hugging me from the side . I can feel the tears threatening my eyes , but I'm still happy for them ; I know Marshall and her will live happily ever after .

" Congrats , you're going to be a daddy , again .. " She whispers into my ear , pecking my temple .

And , at that moment .. I knew what it felt to be alive .
