Chapter 2
Bonnie sat beside Elijah on the Mikaelsons' sofa, as Kol paced around the floor in front of them.
"It can't be, you must have not heard him well, you were endangered," he denied, shaking his head.
"Yes I was, but I am certain of what I've heard," she insisted.
"No, my brother died a thousand years ago. For all we know, your agressor could've been a woman or a kid, you've said it yourself, it was too dark to see things clearly. All I know is that the guy who saved you, it wasn't him, not Henrik. It would be nonsense."
"It is, after all, Mystic Falls we're talking about. Werewolves, doppelgangers, vampires, even hybrids and witches lurk on every street corner. Don't tell me it would be nonsense if your supposedly dead brother was alive. Please, this is nothing compared to the supernatural stuff we have to deal with on a daily basis," she quipped.
Kol shrugged. Part of him completely tried to ignore the information she just provided him with, but he still acknowledged the fact that his longdead brother might've not been dead, as crazy as it sounded. But he had to face reality; Mystic Falls was all kind of crazy.
"Well, I've already talked to Sheriff Forbes and Damon about this, as he seems to be the leader of this whole investigation. They said to meet them as soon as we could near the street you nearly got killed on," Elijah addressed to Bonnie, "They might have a lead on the situation."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Kol chimed in as he cupped his hands together, "Let's go."
He quickly walked out of the room and Bonnie got up and suddenly noticed a few luggages and baggages standing behind the squab. She turned around to face Elijah and asked him :
"Those are yours?"
He slightly frowned before nodding his head, seeing there was no reason to lie to the witch.
"But why? You're leaving with Rebekah?" she inquired, surprised.
"No," he replied, his hands crossed over his chest, "I'm leaving on my own anytime soon. There's nothing left for me in this town and as much as this enquiry concerning this new Mystic Falls killer intrigues me, I don't want to stay."
Bonnie reprimed a scowl and they were interrupted by the horn of a car outside. Kol.
"Always in a hurry, this one," Elijah joshed around, smiling.
She chuckled and they both headed outside.
They all climbed inside Elijah's nice and spacious car and sped away to Westborough Street. When they arrived, the whole squad was already there, flashlights, torches and guns in hands.
"What is this about?" Bonnie mumbled towards the Sheriff.
"We'll be patrolling this region tonight," Damon answered instead, "If what you said was right and you were indeed attacked by this Mikaelson serial killer here, we'll have to watch the area to see if we can catch him."
"Wait, did you just say that Henry was the killer? He was the one that saved me!" she burst.
"We don't know that for sure. We'll have to verify his alibi if we do find him. Clear?" Damon claimed.
Could Henry perhaps be the serial killer? He did have a killer smile though, Bonnie thought before reluctantly nodding her head as she turned around to face the Sheriff again.
"You'll all form pairs of two and walk around a certain perimeter. Each one of you will have a gun and a flashlight. If you notice anything strange or unusual, report it to each other," Sheriff Forbes declared with authority and concern.
