Tony P.O.V.

I watched as y/n ran up the stairs, scattering papers all over my desk. 'She probably left whatever she was doodling earlier,' I thought in annoyance. I felt bad about what I said but sometimes she can be so arrogant. She's too much like me. Pepper really wants this to work out and I do to but I don't know how I can make it up to her. I guess I'll figure something out later. As I started straightening out the papers on my desk, something caught my eye. I pulled out a piece of paper with intricate designs for a new Iron Man suit. It was smaller and more curvy than any of mine and clearly meant for a female. I shuffled through the other papers and found the page containing more details. As I stared at the complex instructions, an idea formed in my head. This could be the way to redeem myself to y/n. If I build her a suit maybe she'll forgive me.

I got to work right away. I was still surprised, to say the least, that she understood how these suits worked and it's hard to admit, but I actually learned some things from her instructions.

I woke up to a creek from the door. I looked up to see Sam's head poking through the doorway.

"Hmmm? Wha time s'it?" I mumbled groggily. He laughed. "It's late that's all I know. But I heard about last night and I wanted to see if you're ok." I nodded. "I'm fine. Just a little upset but I got to spend time with Peter so it's ok." Sam smirked at the mention of Peter's name. "What's up with you and Peter anyway?" I raised and eyebrow. "What do you mean 'what's up with us?' we've been friends forever. We grew up really close to each other and got to be really close, so now he and Uncle Phil are the only people left from my old life." I looked down, trying to contain the tears that threatened to spill from memories of mom. Sam came over and sat next to me, putting his arm around my shoulder. "You two are pretty close than?" I nodded. "He's my best friend. He's always there for me."

"Tell you what," Sam sat up a little straighter and said, "Do you like to run?" I looked up at him and shrugged. "I like being outside and I'm not opposed to running." He nodded. "Why don't you and me go for a little jog. It's really nice weather outside. Perfect for running." He waited for me to respond so I said ok and he left me to get ready, telling me to meet him in the tower's lobby in ten minutes. After he left I started to get dressed. I slipped on a pair of skinny jeans, a black NYC t-shirt, and my grey Adidas tennis shoes. I put my hair in a loose ponytail, and grabbed my phone. Realizing it was probably chilly out, I grabbed Peter's hoody, which I had forgotten to return to him last night, and put it on. As I put it on I remembered the feeling of being lifted into his arms last night. I blushed at the memory and hurried out of my room, hoping Sam wouldn't notice the hoody. I got to the lobby without further distraction and saw Sam standing by the main doors, waiting for me. He turned around as I approached and opened the door for me wordlessly, following me out.

We had been running for a while when we finally decided to take a break. We both walked over to a tree and sat down, breathing heavily. The air was crisp and cool and I was glad I had the hoody. We sat in companionable silence for a few moments, trying to catch our breath. "You hungry?" I was a bit startled by Sam's sudden question but replied honestly, "Yeah." "Well I know a good place to get some food if you're up for a walk." I nodded and raised an eyebrow. "And where might this be?" Sam chuckled and shook his head. "It's a surprise." I rolled my eyes and got up. We walked for a good 15-20 minutes, asking each other questions and getting to know each other better. By the time we reached our destination, unknown to me, I felt like I had known Sam for a long time. "We're here." Sam stopped in front of a little old fashioned pizza parlor. I smiled and we walked in. The floor was white and black checkered and with the red counter tops and the jukebox in the corner, it felt like we had gone back in time. We sat down at one of the bright leather booths and waited till a waitress came over. They all had little hats on their heads, just like you would see in movies from the 60's. A waitress came over to take our order and I looked at her name tag. 'Jenny.' I opened my mouth to order, but Sam spoke first. He ordered for both of us, asking for food by the menu item numbers instead of the actual names. He took away my menu so I wouldn't be able to see what he had ordered. I was a bit suspicious but there wasn't anything I could do about it so I kept quiet. When Jenny brought our food I gasped with delight. She laid a large, steaming pizza with extra cheese, loaded with bacon, ham, pepperoni, sausage, roast beef, and just about any other kind of meet you could name. The crust was thick and looked like it had Italian seasonings on it. When I pulled out a slice, almost burning my hand, I saw the crust was stuffed with cheese and more bits of bacon. Sam grinned at my delight as I took a bite and juicy, meaty flavors mingled on my tongue. We dug in and soon had finished almost the whole pizza. "How'd you know I love meat on my pizza so much?" Sam smiled and said, "A good magician never reveals his secrets. But I'm not a magician so I talked to Peter last night when he brought you home. He carried you all the way from wherever you were and you were asleep the whole time." I smiled at the thought that he cared enough to carry me that far when he could've just woken me up and made me walk. Sam brought me back to reality by saying, "Hey don't get too full though cause there's more." As soon as he said this Jenny appeared holding two tall Sundae glasses. She set one down in front of me and one in front of Sam. My mouth started to water. The glass was full of chocolate ice cream with brownie bits and caramel. It was topped with loads of whipped cream and had chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, chocolate shavings, and crushed Oreo's on top. I could barely contain my excitement as I beamed at Sam. "I assume Peter told you about this too?" He nodded and I looked back at the mound of deliciousness in front of me. It was relatively simple but to me it was the best thing ever. It completely satisfied my overwhelming love for chocolate and whipped cream. You could get me to eat just about anything if it had chocolate or whipped cream in it. We ate happily until our glasses were completely empty and then sat and talked for a while more.

As we made our way back to the tower, I realized that, despite how much I missed mom, this was turning out well for me. I already had two amazing new friends even if they were both almost twice my age and I had everything else I needed. The only thing left was a dad, but I had time to work on that. I just hoped things between Tony and I would sort themselves out.

Tony's P.O.V.

A few long hours later...

I had been working on the suit for a long time now without taking many breaks and it was working really well so far. I just hope y/n will forgive me when she sees it...
