Your P.O.V.

Beep beep beep beep....

I woke up with a start and turned to my phone to turn off the alarm. "Wait a sec its Sunday. I didn't set an alarm," I thought. Confused, I got out of bed and ran out to the hallway to see where the beeping was coming from. I saw I wasn't the only one who had been rudely awakened by the noise as some of the avengers ran down the hallways to find out what was going on. It sounded kind of like a smoke alarm. I realized I was just wearing an old t-shirt and sweat pants so i grabbed a sweatshirt from the floor near my bed, stuck my phone in the pocket, and ran out to find the source. I ended up in Tony's lab and saw his robots putting out a small fire while he shook his head at himself.

"What's going on?" I asked. Tony laughed. "I may have accidentally fired on of the blasters on your new suit while I was finishing up." I rolled my eyes fondly. "Of course you did." Tony feigned being hurt before asking, "Do you want to see it? Dummy is about done putting out the fire." He gestured toward the robot with the fire extinguisher. I nodded in excitement and followed him to the case where my suit was kept. The glass slid out of the way and I looked at Tony expectantly. "Go ahead and try it on." He nodded to it and I walked a bit closer, not sure what to do. "Oh right. I forgot." Tony ran over to his desk and grabbed something. He handed me what looked like two simple navy blue bracelets with a small silver stud in the middle. "Put these on and it will be a lot easier than just trying to put the suit on piece by piece." I did as he said and flinched as the suit came towards me. I relaxed as it started to form around me. When the face piece slid up revealing my face I couldn't contain my glee anymore. I jumped up and spun in a circle, surprised at how well the metal plates moved with me. "Can I take it for a spin?" I made puppy dog eyes at Tony and he grinned. "One moment please." He proceeded to call his suit to himself before nodding at me. The ceiling opened up and Tony explained how to take off and showed me how to balance and use the hand and feet thrusters properly. Soon we were flying over the the streets of Manhattan. We landed on the Empire State Building and took in the view. The sun was just now rising and I sucked in a deep breath as the pink and purple reflected on the water and mixed with the bright blue sky coming out from behind the clouds. It was absolutely breathtaking and we sat there in comfortable silence for a good ten-twenty minutes watching the sun climb higher into the sky to bathe New York in its light. I had always wanted to fly when I was a little kid, to be like the birds who soared free through the sky. But I had never realized just how free you feel when you really can fly and you see all the people like ants rushing through the busy little city. I wanted to feel like that forever. Eventually we went back to the tower to get something to eat. When I stepped out of my suit I ran to Tony and hugged him. "Thanks Dad," I whispered without thinking. I ran away before he could react. When I was nearing the kitchen, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out and smiled when I saw who had texted me.

Peter texted asking how I was doing at the tower. He was the only one of my friends who knew what exactly was going on with me. The rest of them just knew I had lost my mom and wouldn't be at school until I had adjusted to living with my dad. I sent a quick reply saying I was doing fine and would tell him all about it on Monday at school. I put my phone away before realizing I was still wearing my pajamas. Once I had headed back to my room and changed into a pair of comfy leggings and a big t-shirt with Peter's hoodie, yet again, I headed back to the kitchen to eat. 'I really should give it back to Pete at some point,' I thought, 'not yet though its too comfy.' I grabbed a poptart and sat on a bar stool while eating it. When I was almost done, Nat came in and sat down across from me. "Is that Peter's sweatshirt?" I nodded hesitantly. "How'd you know?" Natasha just laughed. "I have my ways. It's kinda cute in my opinion." I could see the glimmer in her eyes as she smirked. "Why does everybody think I like him?" I asked exasperated. "Can't I just have a best friend that happens to be a guy without everyone getting on my case?!" I rolled my eyes and stood to leave. Nat stopped me first. "Y/n I'm not trying to be 'on your case' ok. I just think its sweet of him to let you hang on to it for this long." I looked at her sheepishly. "I'm not sure he really knows I still have it. He gave it to me the other day when I was upset cause I was really cold. I fell asleep in it and I guess he just didn't want to wake me up." I shrugged. I'm sure he knew I still had it but I didn't feel like telling Nat that. She let me go after that and I spent most of the rest of the afternoon playing video games with Clint and Bucky. Sam joined in for an hour or so but he and Bucky kept bickering so he eventually gave up. By the time evening rolled around I was starving so Clint took us to get dinner in the city. When we got back I went to my room to get everything ready for school tomorrow. I picked out my outfit and thought about how I was going to do my hair. I didn't know why I cared so much since it wasn't my first day of school or anything, but I hadn't been to school in a couple weeks since I didn't go to school at all the last week mom was alive. I started to tear up when I thought about her so I pushed the thought aside and got ready for bed. As I stood under the warm water in the shower after washing my hair, I let the heat wash away all the tension and sadness I was feeling. I took a deep breath and turned the water off. Once I had dried off and put on pajamas I crawled into bed and turned on the alarm on my phone before willing myself to fall asleep.

Hey guys, I know this is a really short chapter but it's a lot sooner than most of them so that's a plus right! :) I think I will be able to publish the next chapter in a day or two since it is now officially Christmas break!!

Love you all!
