Your P.O.V.
Beep beep beep beep...
"Ugh..." I groaned as I was rudely awakened for the second morning in a row. Unfortunately, this time it actually was my alarm and I rolled over to turn it off. I jumped out of bed quickly, thinking it would wake me up more. I was wrong. I put a hand on the wall to steady myself as my head spun. When I had recovered, I went to my wardrobe to pick out an outfit. Deciding I really didn't care what I looked like today, I changed into a pair of dark skinny jeans and a big t-shirt. I slipped into a pair of black Ugg boots and a red Hollister hoodie, stuffing Peters sweatshirt into my backpack to give to him at school. My hair was a mess when I looked in the mirror so I brushed it out and put it in a messy bun that actually looked pretty cute with my casual outfit. I grabbed my backpack and headed to the kitchen to get something to eat before I had to figure out who was going to take me to school. I opened the cereal cabinet and quickly zeroed in on my favorite type. I dumped a generous serving of cocoa puffs into a bowl before pouring milk on top of it. Tony came in and grabbed an apple from a bowl on the bar and made himself a quick cup of coffee while I devoured my chocolaty goodness. "Eating real healthy there aren't you?" I rolled my eyes at the sarcasm dripping from his words. "Yes. Science shows chocolate has some health benefits. Maybe not in cocoa puff form, but what am I supposed to do when Sonny the Cuckoo Bird shows up in commercials and goes crazy about cocoa puffs. I can't just ignore him." I pouted at him to show how Sonny would feel if I ignored him. He looked at me questioningly and only then did I realize I shouldn't know what the name of the cocoa puff bird is. Oops. "What can I say? I freaking love cocoa puffs. Mom always bought them and we would eat them together on Saturday mornings while watching old cartoons." I could see the brief glimmer of sadness in his eyes at my mention of mom. "We should probably go soon." I rinsed out my bowl in the sink and put it in the dishwasher, trying to ease the awkwardness. He shook his head and replied "Yeah. I'm taking you to school. Right." He repeated my actions with his mug and motioned for me to follow him. He grabbed the keys to one of his many cars when we reached the garage. We both hopped into his silver Maserati GranTurismo convertible. I ran my hand over the smooth leather seats in awe. I love cars. Probably a bit more than I should. Tony lowered the convertible hood as we pulled out and onto the busy streets. The combination of the blowing wind and the movements of the car had all my baby hairs flying out of my bun. I grinned at the feel of the wind on my face as we approached Midtown High. Tony pulled into a parking spot in front of the school and I opened the door to get out. "Bye Dad. See you after school!" I grabbed my backpack and closed the door as he called, "Bye y/n! Have a good day!" I smiled and turned around to see Peter and our friend Ned walking towards the main entrance. Ned looked so shocked. "Was that Tony Stark!??! Why were you with him?!?" I laughed and patted his shoulder. "Yeah...so that was Tony Stark and right before my mom died she told me he was my dad. So I live with the avengers now." Ned looked like he was about ready to explode. "YOU LIVE IN AVENGERS TOWER!!!!!!!" He practically screamed. "Yeah but you need to calm down." He started peppering me with questions about the avengers and what I had been up to with them. I shook my head at his curiosity. "I'll tell you all about them later." Peter laughed and looked at me. I felt my heart jump a bit at the look in his eye. I blinked a few times to clear my head. 'What just happened?' I thought. I pushed the thought to the back of my mind and listened to what Ned and Peter were saying. It sounded like Ned had just gotten the new Lego Start Wars Death Star and wanted to know if we wanted to build it with him. Peter spoke up. "Yeah do you guys want to come over after school and we can build it?" I nodded vigorously. The three of us were HUGE Star Wars nerds. Plus we all loved Legos so it was only natural that we would all build the huge set together. We all agreed to meet at Peters later in the afternoon as we stepped into our first period class. We all had first period Physics together and with our friend Michelle. I walked into the classroom and immediately headed for her in the back of the room. Peter and Ned sat down in front of us. She nodded at me when I set my bag down and sat next to her. "Hey." I smiled at her and whispered, "Boy do I have a story for you." She raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Let me hear it girl." I rolled my eyes. "So apparently my dad is Tony Stark and, long story short, I live at his tower with the avengers now." She nodded approvingly and smiled. We were both distracted by the teacher as he spoke up. He was a large man who thought he was mostly muscle, which wasn't true at all. He was at least six foot thought, and probably played football in his younger years. He had short cropped graying black hair and was one of the most smug people I had ever met. He had the mindset that he was smarter and better than everyone. I hated this teacher. He hated me too but I didn't even do anything to him. So when he smiled at me I knew he was about to do something awful. "Class, as a few of you have noticed, Ms. y/l/n is back now after almost three weeks absent." You could smell the hate in the room. "That's a long time to miss school isn't it? But anyway, back to what's important. Parent day is coming up really soon so you all need to tell your parents so they will come. Except y/n. She doesn't have a parent to come. Too bad I guess she'll just have to sit there and listen to all the other parents talk." He looked at me with fake pity. Most of my classmates looked confused because they had no idea what was happening but Michelle was just watching to see when I would explode. That was it. "I'm sorry, have I offended you in some way or are you just a jerk to everyone? It's not like I wanted my mom to get cancer. It's not like I wanted to watch her suffer and not be able to do anything. I didn't want her to die, okay! I had a perfectly good reason to be absent for three weeks or more!" As my speech got louder and louder I could feel my face flush in anger. How dare this imbecile taunt me in front of the whole class after I went through something that would turn most people into an emotional wreck. Which I kind of was but that's besides the point. "If you're willing to stoop so low that you would publicly criticize me for something I had no control over than you're even more of a douche-bag than I realized!" I sat down when I realized I had jumped to my feet in the heat of the moment and took a deep breath in an attempt to calm down. Mr. Berman looked taken aback at my outburst which made the corners of my mouth start to turn up in a smug smile. The whole class was staring openly at me by now with their mouths hanging open in shock. No one ever talked to a teacher like that, but then again no one else had the Tony Stark sass and swagger that I had inherited from him. Along with his and mom's anger issues my parents had given me one heck of an attitude. Peter, Ned, and Michelle were all turned towards me and smiled approvingly at me. They all hated Mr. Berman as much as I did and were glad to see his smile wiped off hissmug face. Once Mr. Berman had recovered, the rest of the class went without incident, although the man looked like hethought he had swallowed a large insect and he avoided looking at the back of the room. I managed to control myself the rest of the school day, andwhen the bell rang I promised to meet Ned and Peter at Pete's house in a few hours and hopped into the car Tony was waiting inside. "Hey, how was your day?" I smiled at him and replied, "Remember Mr. Berman? He made fun of me in class and I had a minor outburst that may or may not have made the whole class wary of me." I looked at my lap, not sure at all how he would react. He nodded his head slowly. "Nice...I assume you had a valid reason for yelling at a teacher?" I nodded so vigorously he looked at me to make sure I wasn't having a seizure. "He was taunting me about being gone from school so long and he was just a jerk in general. Oh, also, I almost forgot to mention this but we have parents day soon, which is where parents come in and talk about their career and stuff like that. He was making fun of me because he thinks I don't have any parents now so I'll be alone on parents day. Do you think you could come?" Tony looked hesitant. "I don't know. I'd love to but I'm going to be really busy this week so I won't even be able to drive you to and from school after today." I put on a fake smile so my disappointment wouldn't show. Not only did I want to surprise Mr. Berman by actually having a parent, but I also just wanted to do something with Tony. "That's okay. It's just one day and I know you have a lot to do." The rest of the car ride was quiet. I really needed a dad right now and sometimes Tony filled that role perfectly, but others...he was busy or he just didn't have the patience for a teenager that he never asked for. But I didn't want to think about that right now. I had to get through my homework and then I could go to Peter's.'Just a little while longer and I'll be having so much fun,' I thought. When we got back to the tower, I ran to my room and immediately got to work. I didn't have a ton of homework so I should be done soon. The sooner I got done, the sooner I would see Peter. 'Why did my stomach flutter at the thought of being around my friend?' I didn't let myself think about that as I dived into my homework.
Hey guys! I know that was a kinda weird ending but I'm really tired and if I kept going this chapter would be like 5,000 words long, so I need to split it up into a couple chapters. But, I'm really excited for the next chapter, where there is going to be a lot happening! Anyway, a Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Love you guys!
