what you have done to me
i see nothing but danger
in boys and men
when i see boys that
look like you
i feel nothing but danger
i feel myself being undressed
feel you trying to tear off
my underwear
once
my friend told me he wanted me
now i look at him and
see you
your hands hissing on my skin
cold scales shivering against me
finding places to slip into
once
we went to the beach
it took me thirty minutes
to coax the clothes
off my body
once
i sat in the shadows
of the bonfire
sobbing
i said it was the smoke
but somehow
you emerged from the smoke
wrapping yourself around
my body
rattling your danger call
in my ears
before snaking your way
down my hips
i spent an hour
in the shower
trying to get the smell out
