Rain Shall Fall

Chapter 3

"So? It's an easy job." Annie said. Armin argued,"That is breaking the school rules!"

Armin was over at her house, ordered to 'help' with her homework. Apparently Annie was doing badly, so she resorted to cheating.

"Oh come on. I hate studying so much." She groaned. Armin glared daggers at her. She glanced at him,"I'm not goody-two-shoes like you, excuse me." "I will not steal them! I'd rather spent another hour here trying to get you to understand this damn easy equations."

Annie sipped her drink before she said,"Studying is boring, Arlert. How could you handle the stress?" "Easy. I love studying. Maybe you could start by reading a classic!" Armin told. "Please! Why even are you even talking to me in this manner?"

Armin couldn't handle his anger,"Because it is less worse than stabbing you with a blade!" Annie nearly spit out her drink. That was familiar. "How did you-" "I dreamed it every single night. Me stabbing you and repeatedly crying. It's horrible!" Annie frowned. "That's impossible you could have the same dream as me... " "Pardon?" "Nothing! Now could you please get out!?" "Gladly!"

Armin gathered his items and threw it all in his bag. He made his way out himself, happy to be out.

Annie stood up and rolled her sleeves up. It was time for dinner after all. Ever since an accident, she has been doing house chores for Bertholdt and Reiner. She hated it, so she started bullying in her school, and nearly all feared her.

Armin literally stomped on his way back. For now, he was staying over at Eren's. When he was back, Eren asked,"So how's Annie?" "Terrible." The brunette shrugged and went back eating.

Armin didn't eat. He wanted to fume and rant about Annie's attitude. He was angry at her. The dream he had every night was the only reason why he wasn't hating her 100%. Because he killed her. Probably in their previous lives.

He thought a lot about his dream he didn't notice time pass. And before long, it was midnight. He couldn't sleep with what seems like a million things on his mind, so he decided to walk at the local park. It's wasn't far away after all.

Annie couldn't sleep that night. She tossed and turned on her bed. Bertholdt's snores weren't helping as well. She got up and wore her jacket. She decided to do something she hasn't done in a while. The park. The perfect destination to calm her mind.

As she walked, she ignored it was slightly drizzling. When she reached a favorable spot, it started to rain. She stood as the rain drops hit her face, getting heavier by the minute. She never moved, but the rain shadowed her eyes. Blue eyes that seem to turn lifeless. But life returned to it when she was shook and a loud voice woke her,"What are you doing!? You'll get sick!" Annie turned to see Armin with an umbrella.

Armin's eyes widened,"Annie?" She poised herself to seem superior,"What are you doing here, Arlert?"

"Well I do what I want!" Armin shouted.

Annie looked at him for a while before walking away. She didn't put on her hood. She wanted the rain on her face. Armin caught up with her,"Annie, wait!" She didn't turn. Instead her steps became faster, wanting to avoid him.

Armin ran and stopped in front of her. "What do you want, Arlert?" Annie asked. "I want an explanation." She stayed quiet. "A bully like you wouldn't be here. Under the rain like a 5-year-old kid."

"I do what I want." She repeated Armin's answer to her own question. "There must be a reason!" "If I ever want to tell anyone about my miserable life, I can assure you that you'll be the first to know." She added sarcasm to her voice.

She walked away, unhappy with Armin for no apparent reason. She left him shouting,"There must be a reason! And I will find it!"

By the time she reached home, she was soaked wet to the point it reached under her clothes. She silently took a shower before retiring to bed, where she did not sleep.

Armin was home and Eren was there to greet him. "You look frustrated." "I am at Annie!" He raised his voice a little bit too high. Eren stared in surprise. "Sorry. I uh, I need to sleep." He kicked off his sneakers and went into his room, still fuming.
