Note: Wattpad has been the strangest these days! It wouldn't let me reply to your comments or change anything in my stories. So I wasn't able to thank all your amazing comments or post the new chapter until now...
Simón Álvarez
When we finish the training which went pretty well, specially now that I was in a better mood, I checked my phone. There were a few messages but the one that caught my attention was Ámbar's.
I don't know if you will be tired after practice... Or when you finish working... But if you still want to talk to me, I'll be at the mansion. You can meet me in my room.
I smiled, sensing this message was in fact a proof that things between us could get better. We just had to talk about things more often, think more before speaking and mind common ground when we didn't agree on things. It couldn't be that difficult, right? Specially now that we had a mini creature to fight for.
The rest of my shift went on pretty well. Maybe because I was more relaxed. Maybe because I would be seeing Ámbar later. Either way, before I knew it, we were closing Roller and heading to the apartment.
I wasn't sure how long I would be spending with Ámbar, so I decided it would be wise to have a quick dinner before meeting her. So after eating and refreshing myself, I started my way to the mansion, wishing that none of her friends had turned her against me.
Mónica opened the door for me, seeming really excited when I explained I was there for Ámbar and not for Luna. According to the first, Mónica knew about the baby, so that should be the reason.
"I am so glad you came! She has been so down this week... And just a while ago I went to call her for dinner but she was really upset talking on the phone. Maybe you could take a tray upstairs? She might feel more comfortable and eat... It's really important that she is well fed. Because of, you know..." Luna's mother tells me and I am instantly worried again.
We seemed to be okay after our conversation. But Mónica mentioned a phone call. Who was upsetting her? And why?
I offered to help prepare the tray and in a few minutes, after greeting Miguel and Mr. Alfredo, I was climbing the stairs.
I knocked on her door and no response was given. I knocked again and heard a "I want to be alone, please." from the other side. So I opened it carefully, just taking a peek inside. Ámbar was lying in bed, hugging a teddy bear.
"It's me!" I exclaimed still from the door. If she really wanted to be alone, I would respect her but I still wanted to hear that from her again.
She sat, still hugging the stuffed animal and gestured that I should come in.
I closed the door with my foot and calmly walked to her bed, noticing there were a few things thrown all over the room. I stopped in front of her, placing the tray down. She studied me carefully with her eyes.
"Mónica said you weren't feeling that well. We wanted to make sure you eat. It's important. You know..." I explained and she rolled her eyes, picking the plate with the grilled chicken.
I sat next to her and noticed she was avoiding me. Well, looking at me at least. Ámbar ate always keeping her attention on the food, never looking away or saying a word.
"You seem upset. And Mónica said you were having an argument on the phone. Is everything alright?" I tested, seeing if she would open up to me. Even if only a little.
