Marathon 1/3
Simón Álvarez
I walked hand in hand with Ámbar to this cute little store I had come across one day when I was exploring the city.
After breakfast and since it was my day off, we decided it would be a good idea to put in practice the plans we had made the night before.
Luna was quiet the whole meal, simply observing me and Ámbar, as we ate sitting next to each other with me wearing the same clothes from the previous day. Mónica told everyone that Ámbar wasn't doing too well and that she had asked me to stay in because it was already very late for me to return walking.
Alfredo as expected only said "the more the merrier", happy to know that Ámbar finally had someone by her side to help her during this stage. It didn't leave her too satisfied, but she only rolled her eyes, focusing on her toasts instead. Thankfully, now that Ámbar was almost entering the second trimester, her morning sickness was much better, making it possible for her to enjoy her breakfast.
Miguel looked at his wife, knowing she was hiding something from him. She answered back with her eyes, making it clear that he should leave things like they were for the moment.
Luna almost chocked when Alfredo asked if he could call me "Ámbar's boyfriend". Ámbar widened her eyes, turning to me for a second before answering.
How was she still doubting this? Should I? Wasn't it what we wanted?
Swallowing the nerves, I simply shrugged, feeling myself blush.
"Uhm... I think so..." She said, showing half a smile, letting me know she wasn't certain I wanted the same. I held her hand and squeezed it, grinning back.
"Of course, yes!" I exclaimed and saw her relaxed, giving me a genuine smile this time.
2 people were excited, 1 was neutral and the other one was Luna, who asked permission to leave saying her throat wasn't doing too well. Not before sending me a "We need to talk!" stare. We did, but it would have to be later, I already had plans.
Alfredo wanted to ask all kinds of questions, and we would gladly answer if there wasn't a forbidden subject which was crucial: the baby. Thankfully, Mónica saved us, taking the older man to the garden.
I left too, heading to the loft to take a shower and put some fresh clothes on. I could still feel Ámbar sweet perfume on my clothes, and even though getting rid of it was the last thing I wanted to do, I also desperately needed to feel clean and perfumed.
It was Saturday, which meant we all had the day off. So when I opened the front door, I was greeted by two smirks and lot of questions.
"Look who decided to show up!" Pedro exclaimed. "I told you he hadn't slept here and left early in the morning. It would be impossible for him to move around without us noticing. Not to mention he never gets up that early."
"Well, it's not a crime to spend the night out, right?" I ignored his provocations, sitting on my bed.
Pedro and Nico sat on theirs, turning to me expectantly.
"What?!" I asked, sick of their gazes fixated on me.
"You are not going to tell us anything? You left last night after eating, all mysterious not wanting to say where you were going. You didn't sleep here and only return now... There must be something for you to us, right? Because clearly you were at Luna's..." Nico teased and I sighed.
I was a bit nervous with their reaction to the fact that Ámbar and I were now together. They were my friends and yes, I had agreed with Ámbar that we shouldn't worry about what people had to say about us, but it would be impossible to ignore everything.
