Chapter 5

"We're home!" Alpha and I shouted as we entered the house

"Welcome back you two" our mother welcomed us

"Mom, Percy went to work early today just to let you know" I informed her

"Ok, thank you dear," she smiled "so Alpha did Mrs. Hernandez pick you up this morning?"

"Yep, she even made breakfast for me" Alpha grinned

You see Mrs. Hernandez is our mother's best friend practically her sister so that's why she has a key to our house so that she can wake up Alpha and get him ready for school whenever mom and dad have to work early.

I was about to go to my room until I heard my stomach grumble

"I'm hungry" I groaned

"Will dinner isn't going to be ready till 5:30"my mom said

"Fine I will eat a sandwich instead" I stated

"So do you know when Percy finishes work?" mom asked

"Nope not a clue" I replied as I grabbed two pieces of bread

After a few seconds I finished making my sandwich and headed to my room to do homework.

"Alright class in this project what I want you to do is make a poster and a five paragraph essay of any subject we have studied so far" Mr. Russ informed "now this project is due next month so I'm going to give you until the bell rings to talk to you partner"

After he finished speaking everybody started going to their partners.

"So what do you think we should talk about?" I leaned closer to his desk

He just shrugged his shoulder

"Oh come on you have to have something in mind" I looked him straight in the eye

"Um we can talk about the difference between physical and chemical change" he muttered

"That's a great idea!" I beamed and started jotting down in my notebook "now where should we do our-"

"Your house" he sounded nervous

I leaned my head to the side "huh?"

"We should do our project in your house" he repeated still looking nervous

"Ok if you say so" I nodded slowly

'Riiiinnnnngggg'

As the bell ringed everybody headed out the door and so did I, I wonder why he was nervous did I say something wrong?

I shrugged it off and headed over to history

"Boo!" someone shouted in my ear and turned around with my fist going to hit whoever was behind me but stopped once I saw Ryan.

"Dammit! Ryan don't scare me like that"I scolded him

He smirked but it quickly went away when I gave him my death glare

"So are you going to eat with me today?" he asked

"No can do I have a soccer tournament today and I have to practice" I replied

"Oh come on Echo, for me?" he leaned closer to me giving me the puppy eyes

"No" I stated

"Fine but the next time I ask you, you have to say yes" he pointed at me then left

I turned around grabbed my lunch and my soccer ball then left outside

Once outside I went looking for a spot to eat and saw a big tree and decided to eat there.
