The Lucky Ones [ VI ]

They met the couple at a town surrounded with castles and stone street pavements after Griffin messaged them.

"It's still quiet to live here." Ethan told Kana, legs swinging at the edge of the sidewalk that snaked down below them. "You like it?" He asked Wyvern.

"Yeah. Where's this?"

"Andorra. A micro-state between Spain and France, that's why it looks both of the countries."

She understood the importance of this particular jump site. A country unknown and hidden to the world as he noted. The perfect escape place. She liked it.

Ethan flashed his radiant smile at her. "I heard you've never jumped to anywhere from where you come from."

"I was afraid I'd end up somewhere I didn't know again."

He snickered, "who ever said it was like that? We can never jump to anywhere without a clear visualization of the place. Unless, it's like that with you?"

"Doubt it." Kana cut in. "We've met so many but none like that. And it wouldn't make sense."

Ethan tilted his head for a while, "there's at least this standard we all have. We can jump where we've been before and can remember well. We leave lasting jump scars depending on how clean our jump is. If it isn't, the scar's large and messy and the place we jumped from might end up in a mess too. What else—" he put a finger on his chin. "We can jump other people and things we can carry or is moving with us, given we're strong enough."

"All except for Oliver who can sense jumps," Griffin interjected.

"The only different one," Kana agreed.

"But then we can't say since we haven't met every single one." Ethan huffed. "Imagine if a jumper out there has documents about each of us," he shook his head then tipped the beer can to his mouth.

"Or we can just steal from the Paladins."

They chuckled at Kana's remark.

"And miss the lucky ones too." Wyvern met Griffin's gleaming eyes that winked at her.
