Kat, Brian, Shawn, and Paige all looked out the window seeing the long path to the mcmansion. They could already see the big house. Lights flickered on the inside and you could hear a soft low rumble of noise. Brian and Kat had gotten out right away and were already practically there. Paige had stayed for a couple minutes looking out the window. Paige sucked in her breath. She wasn't nervous she had gone to parties before. She just wasn't in the mood to deal with drunk people and people who were way to loud. She had stopped going to these party's because there were just way to many fake people and way to many prying eyes pretending to care about you.
"Let's go." She grumbled, opening up the door.
Shawn was excited. He liked the feel of people pushing up against him while they danced and sang at the top of their lungs.
"Get pumped!" Shawn said nudging Paige as they walked.
Paige glared at him but her face broke into a smile. "I am so pumped can't you see?" She said with a blank stare. Paige started to laugh seeing Shawn's confused gaze she nudged him this time. "Lighten up Mendes, kay?" She started to walk faster leaving Shawn behind.
Shawn's confused face turned into a smile and ran towards Paige. He wasn't surprised when he came up to her and she wasn't running.
"I hate exercise " Paige gasped. Slowly sinking to the floor, laying on her stomach.
"Come on let's go!" Shawn said seeing Paige sprawled out on the side walk.
"Give me a minute!" Paige said, her voice muffeled. Paige heard Shawn grumble and smiled to herself. Her head was resting on her arms and her heart was racing due to the "extreme" running. Shawn rolled his eyes at her dramatic moment. He sat right next to her. Paige lifted her head. "Hey." She sweetly said. "Hi." Shawn smiled back. Paige turned onto her back and looked up at the sky. Shawn did the same and laid on his back. He looked over at Paige who had her eyes on the sky. He looked up to. He saw little clusters of stars and smiled to himself.
"This is just like when we met." He realized out loud.
"Has something to do with the stars, huh?" Paige responded. Slowly lifting herself up so she was sitting. Shawn copied her and shrugged. "Eh, maybe."
"Let's go." She whispered. Realizing how upsurde it was that they were sitting in the middle of a walk way. Paige got up to her feet Shawn grumbled Paige reached for his hands come on. She pulled him up with Shawn's help. "Good." She nodded her head. "We gotta go patratyyyyy." She answered loudly, turning her head to Shawn with a grin plastered to her face. "Aye aye captain." Shawn saluted.
Paige bursted our laughing. "I suggest you don't say that again."
"And why's that?" Shawn asked looking at her.
"Cause you sound like a little dork."
"And that's a bad thing?" Paige stepped on to the step. She turned her head to Shawn who was behind her.
"Yes you sound like a-" she cut herself off noticing how close there faces were. Her eyes widened and she turned around and stepped up a couple more steps while saying "you sound like a two year old whose trying to be cool."
"Eh what's wrong with that?" He teased back.
"Everything." She laughed not really knowing why she had laughed... nerves maybe?
"Should I knock?" She asked, looking at the door.
"Nah, just go in." Shawn said pushing the door open. Having to reached over Paige to do it. "I could've done that myself." Paige said looking back at Shawn. Shawn smiled, "I know."
"How kind." Paige sarcastically said with a smile. She slowly walked into the house.
It was full of teenagers and cups were on every surface. She saw a couple people she knew from school. Shawn nudged her and said something Paige couldn't hear. "What?" She yelled looking up at him. He leaned his head close to her ear. "Let's find the drinks." His warm breath tingled Paige's ear. She nodded and nudged her way through the people. She could hear shrieks of laughter and people yelling. Shawn tapped her shoulder and pointed to the left where Paige could slightly see the kitchen. After pushing thru people they had finally made it to the kitchen.
A girl had come up to Shawn while Paige had been looking for a drink. She looked over and saw Shawn chuckling while the girl was explaining something using her whole body. Paige rolled her eyes, the girl was straight up drunk and it was only around 8pm. Shawn made eye contact with Paige and saw Paige raise her eyebrows and motion to the girl with her eyes. Shawn scrunched up his nose and shook his head. Paige gave a small laugh at his facial expressions. He moved towards Paige leaving the drunk girl sitting on the floor.
"Do you wanna dance?" Shawn asked. Paige held up a finger and chugged the last bit of beer, it left her throat tingling. She placed her cup on the counter and they made there way to the makeshift dance floor which was basically just a floor with all the furniture moved away. Paige survaled the dance floor.
"Crap." She huffed.
"What?"
"Just stay where you are and act as my shield, tree."
"Did you just call me tree?" Shawn laughed puzzled.
"Just walk!" Paige shouted looking up at him. The shuffled out with Paige squished up against his back.
"Go outside!"
"So bossy." Shawn teased.
"You're killing me just go!" Paige frustratedly yelled.
They finally made it to the sliding door. Paige was almost out the door when she heard someone call her name.
"Shit." Paige whispered and turned around.
