TVD - S5 E17 - Last Act

Enzo collected himself from the floor and dusted his clothes off. He looked at Anne with his eyebrows raised, as if he expected something, "Well then, are you coming with?"
She shook her head, remembering she needed to catch up with James about the case she was working on. "No, I need to take a call. I'll meet up with you later."
Enzo shrugged, muttering little words of irritation towards Caroline. As they were walking up and out of the house, Anne reminded him, "Be easy on her. You remember what it was like, killing when you didn't want to. It's not nice."
"No promises," he tutted, "She snapped my neck."
"She snapped mine too. Trust me, I'm not happy with her either." Anne sighed, "Just try be quick about it."
Enzo gave her a look, "She took the car, I have no clue where they are, so..."
Anne stared at him until he finished, "Can you do your... you know, thing? The vision thing?"
She slouched, "I really don't think that's a good idea..."
"Come on," He begged. "You've done it before, why can't you do it now?"
She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "My visions come at a cost. Do you remember back in twenty-two, when we went to Chicago? Do you remember why?"
A look of exhaustion and frustration cast over his face, "Please, Anne. I wouldn't ask unless I thought it necessary. Caroline isn't the only one with something at stake here, and I'm not letting her control the fate of my reward." He stared intently at each of Anne's eyes. "Please, Anne. Just this once, it can't hurt, he's not around anymore."
Anne felt this would backfire further down the road, but she owed her friend this much. "Alright, I'll do it. But it'll have to be quick, so you'll have to do all the deciphering work."
"I wouldn't expect anything less."
Anne took a deep breath in, opened her mind, and closed her eyes. She tried to focus on Caroline and Tom, trying as hard as possible to quickly centre her sight on their location. A diner flashed in her mind, followed by a glass of water, and the street they were on. Anne's breathing quickened as her head thumped in pain. She hadn't let herself use her visions in decades, because the last time didn't end so well.
"A Diner, glass of water, pancakes, an inside carpark. Is that enough for you to go on?"
"Yes, absolutely. That works great," Enzo praised, then noticed Anne was lingering in place. "Are you coming?"
She frowned, "You should go. I don't want to feel too involved in this scenario. Come pick me up when it's done, and then I've got to get back to Seattle, I have a case I'm working on that needs me, and this mission feels like it's dragging on. I only really came to spend time with you."
Enzo smiled, his tone softening, "You stay here, I'll come grab you when it's done. After I take care of this, and cut my loose ends in Mystic Falls, I can join you in Seattle for a few days. I have time to kill."
"That would be great," she grinned. "But I need you to be on your best behaviour, I have a job now, and I intend to keep it."
"No promises."
"Whatever."
And with that, Enzo sped off, leaving Anne standing on 6634 Peachtree drive by herself.
The streetlights were dim, barely giving shape to the rotting, damp piles of autumn leaves washed up along the sides of the pathway. The stars glistened in their millions, Anne admired them for a minute before feeling the heaviness of her previous action sink in. The use of her visions were not something she felt confident or assured in.
