Anne's Timeline

"Hi, sorry to intrude. We're looking for a friend of ours. Have you seen her?" Anne lifted the picture of Celia to show the man in front of her.

He squinted his eyes for a better look, "No, sorry. Best of luck for finding her though."

Anne lowered the picture and offered a smile and a 'thanks' that she'd repeated to the last dozen people she'd asked. Walking away from this house, her eyes drifted around the street from the thought of being watched, but she shrugged it off when she got to her car. Anne sighed and slumped into the driver's seat, shutting the door lazily.

Rebekah examined her friend before asking the question she knew the answer to. "No leads?"

"Nope."

Enzo, sitting in the back, grabbed his phone from his jacket pocket to look at the time. "Well, it's currently lunchtime, and I'm hungry. So, what do you say we go have a bite somewhere, then pick this up later on?"

Anne was worn thin from the entire morning spent driving across California, knocking on doors and being turned away when mistaken for mormons, and having no single person on the list of names James gave her that actually knew of Celia. At this point, lunch sounded like heaven.

For nearly three days, Anne, Enzo, and Rebekah had been on the road visiting people on the list, trying to narrow down who is connected to Celia and 'TorvoTech,' the institution that James thought was significant in this case. Travelling down the West Coast, they were now in Los Angeles with no leads yet, unanswered questions, empty stomachs, and mild bloodlust. It took everything in Anne's power not to day drink.

Once the Threesome finished their lunch at the billionth diner, they took a feeding break on some stolen blood bags from a nearby hospital, then continued their pursuit. This time it was Rebekah's turn to drive.

"Hey, have you seen this woman?"

"Hi, sorry to disturb, but have you seen this woman?"

"About yea high? Dark hair?"

"Yeah, she went missing nearly a year ago, have you seen her?"

"No sorry, I haven't seen her."

"Sorry, ma'am. Haven't seen anyone like that around town."

"No, sorry."

"No, haven't seen her."

"That's okay, thank you for your time."

"That's fine, have a nice day!"

"Thanks anyway."

"Bye!"

"Bye!"

The door shut in her face, "Bye."

Another full day of questions and searching, all leading to dead-ends.

Anne sighed, smacking her head on the passenger's window. "I'm sick of this. It's taking far too long, and I just wanna find the link, go back home and eat pumpkin soup."
