~Chapter 16: Staying Strong~

>Todoroki's PoV<

More than before, I have been constantly called to be interrogated over and over again, every time asked the same thing, probably trying to get me to confess, but I stayed honest- I believe that Bakugou will get me out of here, so I will not confess even if it means getting a potential larger sentence.

A few times, when I am being brought into an interrogation room with different officers, I catch a glimpse of spiky looking blonde hair- it never fails to calm me down, knowing he is fighting for me.

Today was just another day of being interrogated.

Per usual, I looked at where Bakugou was at when the door opened so the detective would enter- he was standing there, his eyes attentive- it broke yet warmed my heart simultaneously.

"Did you ever sexually assault these people," I was asked again, showing the same pictures of people I never had seen.

"I have not."

The man sighed, "Have you ever assaulted them and stole their wallets?"

"I have not."

"Where were you on these nights?"

"I was at a bar, then I went to my house."

"What bar was it?"

They are asking for different things now.

"It is called Wingman."

"Isn't that a gay bar? What were you doing there?"

"It is." I admitted, it was slightly embarrassing knowing Bakugou was around, but I couldn't lie, "I was asking for advice."

"Advice on what?"

"Advice on love."

I am not going to reveal anything in this way, I can't have him find out because of an interrogation.

"Are you sure it wasn't for sexual assault?"

"No. I wanted advice on a guy I like. I would never do something like that."

"So where did you go afterward, on your walk home, did you make any stops?"

"No, I ran back."

"Why run? Did you steal from the bar?"

I tried my best not to sigh, it wouldn't help me to be annoyed or sarcastic.

"I ran back because I had someone visit me."

"Oh?" This is probably new information.

"Who did you have come over? An accomplice?"

I shook my head, "I rather not say, but we just had drinks together."

"Why not? If it isn't a crime, you should be able to say something."

I don't want to tell anyone who I am close too after having been here, they will go after him.

"He has nothing to do with this. He just came over to have a drink with me."

"Well if you are hiding his identity, he obviously has something to do with it."

"I don't want him to dragged into this. He is innocent."

"Are you saying you are not?"

"Shut up with that shit- I'm his alibi, asshole," a voice said from the overhead, "Todoroki and I were having a drink- I went to his house."

The detective looked at me once again, and even though I was upset he was revealed, I was glad to know he had my back.

"Is this true?"

I nodded my head.

"Why hide it then? Is he lying to get you out?"

"No," I said, lowering my head, "I don't want him to get hurt. The inmates threaten me by hurting those around me."

I was ashamed to admit it- my weakness, the people I care about not being able to be protected.

"I can protect myself you id- get off me- hey-"

I gulped as the overhead suddenly was cut short, staring worryingly at the black glass, hoping that he was alright- he shouldn't be brought into this- why did he have to say it-

The door opened, revealing Bakugou with another man, he was wearing his hero suit, with the exception of his bulky gauntlets.

"Let's have Bakugou talk to Todoroki for a second, Bakugou won't stay still."

The detective interrogating me nodded, "We are listening- remember that."

The other men left, Bakugou was still standing at the door, staring at me.

Eventually, he walked over, it was much more awkward than expected, but at least he was here.

"What happened to your face-?"

I looked down, not wanting to have him see me like this, "It's nothing. The inmates just aren't very fond of me."

I heard him groan, "Those assholes- how could they put you in here."

Gently, a hand was placed below a bruise near my scar, the contact creating a surge of emotions to come out.

I held his hand on my face, and before I knew it, I'd begun to cry, "Thank god- you're okay," I uttered, his hand was warm, alive- it was what I'd been begging for every passing day.

He slammed his other hand on the table, "I'll get you out of here- okay?"

I nodded, wiping my tears away, letting his hand fall, this is the weakest anyone has seen me- I've only cried in front of my mom.

"Shit- what are they doing to you," he said, his hands clenched.

"No- I'm fine," I said, looking back at him, "I just need to make sure you are alright."

"Shut up," he said, his face now pink and looking more beautiful than how I remembered, "I already said you don't have to worry about me. I'll hire some bodyguards for your family too, we are alright- I'll make sure to prove you are innocent."

Perhaps it was my feeling weak, but I couldn't help a small smile, he still managed to be so strong.

I placed my hand on his own, "Thank you- by the end of this, you'll be my hero."

"Shit-" he covered his face with his free hand, "What the fuck halfy- don't say that sweet shit, I'll throw up."

I smiled, rubbing his hand, "Sorry," I said, "I believe in you."
