The Book Of Wrath

CH 11 Black Sands

( Third p.o.v )

Wrath watched from above as the group was now about to enter the desert. His boys were in the back as Leo and Nico lead the group. He could see the worry on all their faces. Wrath went ahead as soon as they entered like, he told them he would. He sat up his tent at the other end waiting patiently. Meanwhile, the hard part just began for everyone else. Annabeth watched closely at the sand waiting to predicate the next blow that could end their lives or injure them severely. Thalia was already stressed out trying to be ready to slow the wind down on Annabeth's call.

( Gunter's p.o.v )

We slowly walked into this black desert of glass. Everyone was tense as we walked knowing all we had to predict the wind was Annabeth. I trusted her judgment on this only because I know she wanted to make it out alive. But holy shit man this is crazy I thought. I looked at Hunter and like always he hid the worry on his face well. I strived to catch up with my brother and be on his level. "GUYS TO OUR LEFT IN TWO MINUTES!" yelled Annabeth. I looked to the left and made a wall of water to protect us as Leo did the same with his fire. Thalia said she was doing her best but the winds were still pretty fast.

Glass entered the water stopping and whatever touched Leo's shield melted. "It's over," called Annabeth. We dropped our shields and Thalia stopped her powers as well. "Geez this might a bit harder than I thought," said Thalia. "Yeah I think this sucks and I haven't even used my powers yet," said Nico "Guys focus this is serious. Father said it should take us a day if we get the right path," stated a serious Hunter. "He's right to let's go towards the right there seems to be less active on that side right now," Annabeth said we shifted to the right till Annabeth said to stop.

It's been about two hours now and we made it about six miles which only left about forty-five miles left. "Does anyone want to stop for a bit so our legs could rest?" asked Annabeth "Could we make it further real quick if we were to sprint real quick?" asked Thalia. "Let me look and think," she replied. Annabeth studied the route ahead for a minute. "THERE IS GOING TO BE ONE IN FIVE MINUTES THEN WE SHOULD HAVE A GOOD MILE IN A HALF SPRINTING GOT IT," she yelled. Everyone shouted yes She pointed to the right. Nico, Hunter, and Thalia got ready for the tornado.

It hit us for about two minutes then we took off as fast as the group could go. I could tell I was pushing myself so I activated my Pride. I could feel the change in my eyes as the dark yellow flakes in my eyes appeared. The pain in my legs dulled as we continued to run. I saw Hunter look at me in concern as he saw my eyes but I just smiled letting him know I was alright.

When we came to our stop to rest everything went wrong. As we all stood still resting Annabeth picked up another storm. "TO OUR LEFT," she yelled. I quickly put my shield but Leo wasn't as fast. A huge chunk of glass came through as Nico tried to help. It was headed towards Calypso and Thalia. Thalia struck it with lighting leaving a small piece left. Hunter thinking on his feet threw himself over Thalia taking the piece of glass into the back of his right arm. "HUNTER!" I yelled. I put my shield down and ran to my brother," Hunter are you alright." "Yeah brother but it hurts we need to get to father faster now," he grunted.

I picked him up he was losing blood quickly. "Guys either we make it faster to my dad or I'm going ahead he won't make it at the pace we are going." "Alright if we run full speed we should make it on time," Annabeth spoke. "Everyone get your shields up were going now," I commanded. Leo's shield went up then Nico's and mine went up last after adjusting Hunter. "Let's go."

We ran harder then we've ever run before I'm sure. I could tell Thalia was trying harder than she was before as sweat poured down her face. She kept glancing at Hunter every now and then as we ran. "Look we are almost there," shouted Nico. We looked and he was right we managed to do it in about forty-five minutes. I was really pushing myself right now my eyes were fully dark yellow. I tapped my watch as we continued our way out. "Message father. Tell him Hunter is hurt and I've pushed myself too hard. Arriving in like five Minutes." The beep went off signaling the message went through.

I saw father waiting as we busted out of the black sands. He took Hunter and I over his shoulders he lied me in a cot and Hunter on a table. He gave me a sip of nectar and said to sleep so that's what I did.

( Thalia's p.o.v )

We collapsed after making it out of the sands. Leo passed out along with Nico. The girls were huffing and puffing hard like me. I tried looking for the boys I needed to find Hunter. He was hurt and it was all my fault. It should be me almost dying right now not him. I pushed myself off the ground and walked to the tent Warth had set up. I could see Gunter asleep on a cot and him working on Hunter.

"Will he be ok?" Wrath ignored me continuing on his arm. "Can I do something to help?" Wrath continued to ignore me. "Look please just tell me if he'll be alright." Wrath finally looked at me," I'm done hopefully he'll wake soon. Please help me get everyone to a room to rest.

I helped the girls up and into a room to rest. After taking one for myself I quietly prayed for Hunter to get better until I passed out from energy lost.
