CH 21 Something Is Off

( Third p.o.v )

The group walked to the darkest place in Tartarus Nyx' palace. It was growing darker and colder as they traveled where most monsters don't dare to go. However, something seemed off as Wrath and Greed walked this familiar path. Trouble was brewing and the sins were unsure of what was going to happen or if they could even help out.

( Hunter's p.o.v )

As we walked I could see the emotions in everyone's eyes. Annabeth and Leo were both scared behind their tough faces they put on. Thalia looked worried as it grew darker and darker. Nico's eyes held confusion but his face looked like he got locked in a candy store. Father and Uncle looked confused as Gunter and Calypso were at ease.

I fell back behind the others to walk with Father and Greed. "What's going on?" Father met my eyes and signed quietly, " Somethings not right we are summoning our animals to us." "Even Jax? Are you having come as well?" I asked. He shook his head at me, " No Jax is going to check the house to see if one of your aunts or uncles it there." I nodded at him, " Then who's coming for sure?" Uncle Greed answered first, " Scout, Midnight, Shade, and Lee." " What are you going to tell the others when they arrive?" Father was going to answer when a bark was heard coming from our left-hand side.

"What are they doing here?" asked Thalia. I looked at Father who motioned for me to answer her. "Father says something is different about the path. The vibe feels off so the pets are here to help." "So they can feel it too. I thought I was the only one, " spoke Nico. "What do you mean Death Breath?" said Thalia.

Nico looked at us, " Well I wasn't sure if Wrath could sense the feeling in the darkness and shadows. I didn't want to look stupid." "How would have that made you look stupid?" questioned Gunter.  Nico just shrugged his shoulders at us not giving a verbal answer. "Ok, then what do you feel in the shadows?" I questioned. "Whatever it is there is more than one. There fast and I believe they are watching us." "Nico's right whatever is watching us isn't very happy to see us. I can smell their anger and fear, " said Father. "Whatever they are planning is biased off their greed, " spoke Uncle.

"Alright, then what does our quest leader have in mind then, " Annabeth groaned sarcastically. All eyes were on me now as I tried to think of what to do. I looked at my watch to see it would be dark out if we weren't stuck down here. " Let's camp here tonight and I'll come up with something before dinner." Everyone nodded at me as Greed put up the tent for the night. " I call dibs on cooking, " yelled Calypso. We all went to get settled in for the night as I sat on the couch planning.

( Wrath's p.o.v )

My son had a determined look so I knew his plan would succeed. I was in the kitchen with Gunter, Greed, and Calypso. I've been a bit happier getting this second chance with her. I plan on spending time with her tonight to get to know her better. Then hopefully we can start on her training with weapons." Wrath maybe you should check on Hunter, " Calypso said to me. "Sure thing dear whatever you want." She smiled at me as I left to Hunter.

I walked to the living room where Hunter was still thinking on the couch. "Hey, my boy how's your plan coming along?" Hunter signed a but in frustration. "Why don't you tell me what you have so far instead?" he sat back into the couch as he ran his hand through his hair. "I was gonna ask if you could send your pets to scout for a bit. I was thinking they could find who's following us, " he said tiredly.

I smiled at him saying that was a good idea. He looked relieved as he decided to lay down a bit to rest. "I'll wake you for dinner and send the pets out right now. Rest my boy I love you." He smiled as he shut his eyes to take a nap. I got back to the kitchen back to everyone when Calypso asked me a question. "Is Hunter alright? He looked stressed out earlier." They all turned to me for an answer, " Of course love he just asked a favor from Greed and me." Greed got off his chair, "What did my nephew need?" "Hunter wants to know if we could send some pets to find our enemy." He nodded at me as he started walking to lead the way out to the front door.

Together with Greed outside the tent, I whistled for Shade as Greed called for Scout. The two came after about five minutes trotting to us sitting at our feet. "Shade my boy Hunter needs your help. He's hoping you and Scout can find the culprits who are following us." Shade barked at me before waiting for Scout. Greed squatted to face Scout. "Listen to me buddy Hunter is counting on you two. As soon as y'all figure out what we are dealing with. Let me know through our mind link ok." Scout did a playful snap at Greed then proceeded to take off with Shade. 

"Wrath, dinner's ready, boys hurry up so I can serve you!" yelled calypso. Greed and I went back into the kitchen to eat. I woke Hunter up on the way so he could eat with us. Calypso started putting plates on the table for everyone as the others also came down to eat. "So do you got a plan already done?" asked Annabeth. "Geez we just sat down do you mind if we get started on eating real quick, " I said upset. She mumbled under her breath and began to eat her food. We all dug into our plates after that.

As we were in the middle of dinner now I decided it was a good time to talk about what we should do. "Guys as you know Hunter was coming up with a plan. Well, he already got started with the first part." Everyone just looked up at me with food in their mouth. Thalia managed to swallow down her food to ask a question.

" what was the first part?" she asked. "Well as you know Greed and I can't really help unless it messes with us directly. But Hunter didn't have us do anything, in fact, he asked our pets to do recon instead. " okay, so he had the pets go out and try to find out what's out there, " said Nico. "Okay but what about after that?" questioned Annabeth. "Well how about you let us find out what the enemy us first, " said Greed. "Well, how much." Annabeth didn't get to finish her sentence because Greed interrupted her. "Well fuck us, Scout found out what's following us."
