(QING)

Speaking of family, I still have one member I need to have a one on one with.

My Wowo.

It's already half past midnight when I have gathered my courage and went out of my room to search for my grandfather.

I went to his room and try to see if my grandfather is already asleep although I am sure he won't sleep this early. Yes, for my grandfather, midnight is still early. He is used to sleeping late from the time he was studying and working at the same time.

My grandfather is an inspiration. He came from nothing. He was a servant. A slave...yet he dreamed and he dreamt big and he did everything to achieve it. What we have, the wealth, status and reputation our name have, it's all thanks to him.

And I have been ungrateful to him. I disrespected him a lot of times. Yes, he did try to control me, maybe some of my actions are justified but some of them are also not.

And there's also the truth that my Wowo has been my champion and number one fan when I was growing up and reaching for my dreams. I forgot it for moments, how my Wowo had been the best grandfather for me.

Maybe Gege is right, I am a brat. One adamant no from my family and I started giving up on them.

I entered my Wowo's room and was only half surprised to find that he is not there.

I closed the door and walked around our home to find him. I saw him in the garden...standing alone under the awning at side of the mansion. The lights on the dining room serving as his companion.

I went out to join him.

"You are old now, you know. Prone to colds and flu and other old man's disease..." I said lightly as I stood beside him.

"Go away," he shooed me without any heat.

I grinned at him. "What are you thinking about?" I asked him.

"How to adopt new grandsons. You and your brother are too mulish to tame. You made every staffs on my hospital gossip about the two of you. A brawl, in the front of your elders, inside my hospital. Of all the nerves..."

I chuckled at that. "We are Wangs, what do you expect from us?" I said in amusement.

"Hmmm..." Wowo hummed noncommittedly.

I look down at my sandal clad feet. The I look at Wowo's feet inside his fluffy dark slippers. I smile at that. My grandfather and I had he same shoe size, our feet quite long. "Will I one day inherit your slippers?" I asked him conversationally.

"No," my Wowo's reply came fast. "I already write you off my will. You will get nothing from me," he said.

I look up to stare at his profile. My grandfather, for all his money and connection in the medical world, didn't let science touch his face. His age shows in his slightly sagging and wrinkled facial skin.

He is old now, my Wowo. But his mind, as sharp as ever.

"Do you hate me now?" I asked. "Have I managed to finally empty out your love and patience for me?"

Wowo glanced at me then he sneered. "You know that is impossible because if you exhaust my love and patience, all I need to do is..."
