(QING)
Dayu asked me to let him off at the same business complex where I picked him up before we went to dinner. Traffic was not bad but still, when we got there, most of the businesses in the complex are closed.
"Will you be really fine here?" I asked Dayu as I stopped the car. "Maybe I should let you off in front of your home,"
"That will not be necessary," Dayu took off the seatbelt around him. "It's just a ten minute walk from here to our neighborhood. Ten minutes and I will be home. It's fine."
"Are you sure?" I turned my body to him.
"Yes, stop worrying." Dayu chuckled at me. "Thank you for the dinner and the experience. I never thought I would meet a renowned chef when I dressed up for dinner tonight."
"They are lucky to meet you as well," I assured him. Dayu smiled at that. "Well, thank you and thank you again for taking me home. I guess this is it..."
This is it. He thinks it is over and we will never see each other again. Like that deal we had when we separated in the hotel.
"Yes." I nodded. "This is goodnight for today. Just text me when and where you will treat me," I said as I put my hands on the steering wheel again.
"Wait? What?" Dayu put a hand on my arm to stop me. "Treat? I still have to treat you? I thought that was the dinner a while ago..."
I frowned at him, "Our deal is you will treat me instead of paying for the repair of my car. Did you bought the dinner tonight? It was free..."
Dayu's mouth fell open for a moment before he can compose himself. "Yes, but I thought..."
"No." I shook my head to him. "You still owe me a treat. Just message me when and where, okay?"
Dayu stared at me like he is gauging if I am joking. Well, I am not. So...
"We will dine together again?" He asked me.
"Looks like it, yes," I nodded.
Dayu frowned as he thinks. "I...uhm..." he hesitated before twisting his body to face me. "Can I be honest with you?"
I nodded. "Sure."
Dayu hesitated again, "I am thinking. If we dine together again, that will be like...I don't know...that would seem like...a date already. I mean, three times. If we dine together again it will be the third time and it will be like dating already."
Fuck! I was wishing to avoid rushing Dayu but he is smart. Darn it, so this is the disadvantage of dating a smart person. They can interpret your moves well.
I shrugged. Dayu is already onto me. What can I do? "So? Let's date," I said nonchalantly before cursing myself again.
Damn it! Wrong! Wrong! Ugh! Why am I stupid? It...
"No. Wait Dayu..." I want to take it back. I should never said that casually. Dayu might I am not serious.
But Dayu is not listening to me anymore. "You...want us to date?" He gave me a stunned look of surprise.
"Yes." I sighed. "Let me rephrase it, Dayu. I said it the wrong way. It should be...would you give me the honor of dating me? I would really love to take you out again. Officially this time. Please..."
Fuck! Dating a girl is hard. You cannot be an insensitive jerk. I mean, you cannot be an insensitive jerk when you date a man but with a girl, you have to be extra careful not to be fresh and forceful.
