~~~~Marie's POV~~~~

I started to freak that man or thing attacked me a few days ago before I left to come here. If I were still in my human state I probably would have had a heart attack or something. He saw my panic and soothed me with words "shh it's ok he's not going to get you. Your safe and unharmed" as he pulled me to his chest and played with my hair.

I heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs and I giggled he looked at me like I did something astonishing "what?" he shook his head slightly "how did you do that?" no I was confused "do what? giggle?" he shook his head at me "you see all vampires have a scent but I can't catch yours anymore so you disguised it and I have never known someone with that kind of power" he smiled.

I heard pounding on my door which I locked and came into here "oh Marie come out we only want to talk to you" I heard the playfulness in there voice and I silently giggled.

I grabbed Jake's hand and noticed his scent disappeared "your good" I whispered in his ear "go hide in the closet" he whispered back. When I let go of his hand his scent came back but mine was still hidden.

I quickly but quietly entered the closet, shut the door behind me, and sat with my back up against the wall and listened. The bedroom door unlocked and opened with a creak "hey guys" he said "hey Jake do you know what your mate did?" someone said I couldn't tell who though "no but I'm assuming your going to tell me" someone chuckled "she turned off the game and put this crap on" I could hear the tape being shook back and forth "anyway we were just going to put her up in a tree for a little bit"

Out of instinct I reached down and touched my belly "hey have you guys heard the news?" Jake said sounding excited "no..." it sounded like Ben "well me and Marie are going to have a child and no Ben you can't name it. And don't even think about trying to get her to call it George if it's a boy" I heard a sigh/groan and I couldn't help but giggle a little.

"Where is she?" someone else asked "why?" curiosity was starting to take over me " I wanna see it for myself"

"Marie come here darling" Jake spoke to me with gentleness spun in his words. I came out of the closet and out of the bedroom to side right beside him. One of his arms wrapped around my waist and my hand still resting on my stomach. Over the past hour or so my stomach as went from flat to a belly bump.

"Congratulation your parents" Tyler said "when's the wedding?" a masculine voice spoke from behind us me and Jake turned around to find a man with blue eyes, about 6', dirty blonde hair, and about 37.

"Hey dad this is Marie my mate" Jake said while his dad was inhaling the air "why can't I smell her?" he looked at me and Jake whispered "let the disguised down" I focused and the wall holding back my scent broke.

He inhaled again "your Marie long, just turned 17 and couple days ago, you are a new vampire, and pregnant with a child congratulation" his face turned serious "you are a bitten vampire corrected?" I shook my head "no dad she was born vampire but she did not know till yesterday when I awakened her vampire by telling her what we are and that she's my mate." he looked shocked.

"I was given up at birth and lived a human lifestyle in foster homes, sir" he nodded "you can call me Ethan dear and how long have you been pregnant?"

"We just found out this morning" I gave a small smile. Smiling is something I don't do often. He looked at my belly "than that baby is growing fast. What rank vampire are you?" I looked at him confused and the over at Jake "dad she doesn't know" he said for me.

"Very well we shall figure it out" and we followed him down the stairs and into the backyard. "there are four ranks. 1- the commons they are the lowest on the scale. 2- people who can protect but not warriors. 3- the warriors. 4- the high ranks. Some say that the high ranks are completely wiped out but I personally don't believe that." Ethan continued "there use to be a 5th rank but those where wiped out completely century's ago"

He smirked "what am I suppose to do?" I asked clearly confused. When he stood opposite from me about 15 feet away and took a stance I immediately knew what to do but I needed something I use in every fight "someone muffle or keep Jake from hearing this" and heard shuffling behind me but I stared at Ethan "you have to provoke me call me names, talk trash, anything if you wanna see me fight." he nodded.

"Hey bitch what's your dumbass of a mate doing here is he going to watch you go down?" I felt the rage click inside of me and my lips formed an evil smile "are you sure you not the one going down?" and he charged at me throwing punches and kicks at me but dodged every single one of them and yawned but at the last moment I caught his fist and twisted it backwards but let go when I knew I was hurting him.

I masked my scent, ran into the forest a couple trees in, and climbed to a limb that looked comfortable, sat down, closed my eyes, and relaxed.

When the branch started to move a little I opened my eyes to see a smiling mate "your on my branch so move little mate" you could tell he was joking about the moving part but I narrowed my eyes at him "I'm not little" and he chuckled. I heard twigs snapping so I threw my hand over his mouth and said "shh" he looked at me confused but I continued to listen for the noise.

I whispered "do you hear that?" we both listened and heard the snaps quicker this time and they were getting closer so I masked his scent to without him noticing "I don't hear anything. why do you hear something?"

I nodded my head but before I could speak someone spoke "where are you guys?" I sighed with relief, it was only Wesley. I slowly climbed down the tree trying not to fall I unmasked Jake and my scent. I was on the last branch when I felt a pain in my leg and I accidentally lost balance I hissed in pain as I landed on two feet. He was by my side as I let out another low hiss "what's wrong are you OK? is the baby OK?"

I nodded "we're fine but I have a pain in my leg it started in the tree and I lost balance but landed on my two feet but it added to the pain" I shook my leg out a little bit and Jake held me so I wouldn't have a remote possibility of falling. Once his skin touched mine the pain was gone I looked up at him "when you touched me it went away" I smiled "we are remedies for each other" he said smiling back at me.

We walked back to the house with me on Jake's back. We entered the living room to find Ethan with an ice pack on his wrist I felt really guilty.

"I'm sorry about your wrist Ethan"
