I took a generous gulp, taking a moment to enjoy the sensation of the liquid burning a path down my throat. I sighed and cast my glance, once again to Keghan, who was socializing with yet another person.
Emma patted my arm gently. "I'm sure he's not ignoring you on purpose." She attempted to pull my cup away but I took another swig before she could.
"Whatever." I muttered before downing the cup and searching for another one.
Emma followed me through the kitchen and tryed desperately to shake her head no at the person handing out the beer. He ignored her, thankfully.
"Two please." I smiled brightly at him and he quickly poared two cups. I drank one right there and handed the cup back to him, taking the next one he offered and walked away, with Emma following.
I stumbled into a wall and for some reason I found that extremly funny. Emma sighed and successfully grabbed the cup from my hand. She made a show of poaring it out onto the floor. "You. Are. Done. Drinking." She said slowly, making sure I understood.
I frowned at her but the shrugged. I turned to look for Keghan again and ended up smacking strait into him. "Ouch." I muttered, holding my face. "I need to stop doing that."
Keghan shook his head softly and looked down at me, then at Emma, then back down to me. "Have you been drinking?" He asked gently. I was playing with a button hanging on his shirt so I didn't notice. "Has she been drinking?" He asked Emma and she nodded guiltly. "How much have you drank?" He asked me, shaking my shoulders gently. When I didn't answer he turned to Emma again. "How much did she drink?" He asked her.
"I don't know. I wasn't keeping track or anything." She glared at him. "And plus, it's your fault." Emma said matter-of-factly.
"Oh?" Keghan raised an eyebrow. "And how is that?" He asked, his voice low and dangerous.
"You left her, and you haven't talked to her since." Emma stated, jutting out her hips and planting herself into the ground.
"God." Keghan groaned. "Really Kens? Look, I meant to, but I was busy." He sighed, stroking my hair to the side. "Come on Kens." He said and started to lead me up the stairs.
"Oh no. Hell no, wait." Emma called to us. Keghan turned and looked at her oddly. "You can't just take her somewhere, I'm her alibi for the night, I need to know where she is." Emma stated.
"She's staying with me tonight, so that she doesn't get into any more trouble." Keghan told her, placing an arm around me to steady me.
"Okay? Well she better be at school tomorrow, or I'm dead. And then I'm coming for you after Adam kills me." Emma said toughly.
I laughed, regaining some of my old self back. "I'll stop Adam from killing you Em." I smiled sluggishly at her but she got the message. "I'll see you tomorrow at school Em. Thanks for the company all tonight."
I aimed that last line at Keghan.
We walked up the steps to his room and he deposited me on his bed. "Okay, what happened?" He asked me, his hands on his hips.
"You left me." I said simply. "At the very beggining and you didn't talk to me all night, so I drank. It felt good, for a while. I forgot all my problems."
"I know Kens. I just wished you would have came to talk to me. I really hated talking to all those people, telling what a great party it is and how awesome I am. Stupid stuff. But now we can be alone okay? The party will end soon anyways, but you can stay here, if you would like."
"I-"
"No strings. You can just stay." He told me as he plopped down onto the bed beside me. "We can talk for a while. Do you want to hear more about the Fae?"
