"Hey Kens," Adam said when he saw me. He took another look at me, seeing my drawn face and then his eyes flicked to Keghan. "Kens," he reached out to touch my face but I hesitated and then backed up into Keghan. "Kensley, what's wrong?" He asked gently, trying again to step toward me.
I backed even further away, but Keghan kept me from running out the door. "Kensley,"he murmered near my ear, his breath tickling my baby hairs on my neck. I stiffened, but stepped toward Adam.
"Adam, I have to tell you something." Was the only logical thing that I could come up with. "I need to sit," I said quickly, almost running to the couch before I collapsed on the spot.
Adam took a seat next to me, hesitantly. He looked over at me oddly watching for any sign of well anything to happen. "What's up Kens?"
"I-" I closed my mouth, clamping down on my tounge to think for a moment. I stared up into Adam's milky brown eyes. I was close to loosing my nerve. "I have to leave," I blurted out to him.
I felt Keghan's gaze boring into my back but I didn't turn. I kept my eyes on Adam, watching as his expression turned to one of humor when he thought I was joking, he looked at my face and realized I wasn't lieing, then his face drooped and shock overtook his features. I watched him as he struggled to come up with a single thought. "Why?" He asked suddenly. I reached out a hand and touched his, he gripped my wrist, like it was holding him to the earth.
"I'll start from the beggining?" I asked him, and he nodded. "So when Dad was taken, these people took him, and Keghan was one of them," I saw his expression, and he tryed to cut in, "no, let me finish, and they took him to another place, he's Fae and they took him because he was one of them. And we are half-fae and they need me Adam, can you trust me? I really need to go with him." I looked up into his eyes and he gazed down at me.
He was digesting this information. "It's true sir," Keghan cut in, "I'm sorry but it is, we need her in the Fae lands now." He explained.
Adam stood up quickly, ripping his fingers from my arm. "It's not possible, I don't believe you." He muttered backing away.
"Let me show you. I can show you my real face." Keghan said, standing also.
I looked up at him, my surprise evident on my face. "You, you wha-" I stuttered trying to collect my thoughts.
Keghan nodded and closed his eyes, I watched with interest as he turned his hands up and concentrated, his brow furrowing as he stood there.
I opened my mouth to say something but then something caught my attention. I watched, my head cocked slightly as Keghan's face shifted. It slowly changed as I watched. His ears came to sharp points and I saw him grimace as his cheekbones became more prominent. The breath hissed out of his mouth and he opened his eyes to look at me, his eyes changed slightly, looking more fierce, and less human.
I stepped back slightly, running into the couch, I felt my legs give out and I plopped on the couch. He reached out a single hand toward me, I was staring at his hand, and the new fingers, longer fingers now. I leaned back into the couch. "Kensley-" His voice was strong and rang clear.
"Is this how I really look?" I asked, my voice shaky.
"Beautiful? Perfect? Lovely? Yes," he whispered, touching my arm.
I smiled despite myself, placing my hand on top of his. "Wow," I reached out my free hand to brush his cheekbones then under his eyes.
His breath huffed out on my face in a sigh. He brushed my cheek and just continued to stare at me. Adam coughed softly, I tore my gaze from Keghan's and looked at Adam. "Kensley, can you do that?" He asked, still looking rather dazed.
