8: Thank You

Serenity

"Aww thanks guys, you are too kind." I said as I gave all of them a hug.

Me, Static and Devante are finally back from Louisville and now we were all getting back to work on our albums.

"I'll see you later De." I said as I walked over to him and gave him a hug and a kiss on the lips.

"Okay baby."  Devante kissed my cheek and gave me another hug and I noticed Kci and Dalvin smirking.

"Later Static." Devante gave him a hug.

"Later De." Static said.

Once both Static and I got to the studio I laid all my emotions on this next song.

"Wow that was dope Sis." Static told me clapping his hands together applauding me.

I was really trying to get this album done so I was on a roll and ready for more. 

Static was talking in the mic. "What song do you want to do next?"

"Put Your Love On Me" I told him.

"Okay sis." Static started to play the beat and I immediately got back in my zone.

Devante Swing

I was really digging this beat that Dalvin had been working on for this song. He came up with it and it was the perfect beat we needed.

"This is tight bro." I hyped him.

He smiled giving my a thumbs up. "Thanks man."

"So you got any lyrics for it?" I asked him.

"Nah, but Kci got something, I think its dope." Dalvin said.

"Okay coo. Kci get in there and spit something." I told him motioning him towards the both.

By the time Kci was done sing we have the melody down and all we had to do now was divide verses accordingly and do some harmonies.

"That was good, I'm feeling this." I said popping my knuckles as I stood up.

They always know that I would be honest with them. If I didn't like I was going to let them do it over until its right. I take music seriously and they know that. But today was smooth sailing, They brought their A game today.

"Thanks man." Kci said.

We ended up getting about three more songs done and luckily we are almost done with the album. Since we were done a bit early I walked down the hall because I wanted to see if Serenity was ready to go home if she was also done early. I walked into the studio she was in and it was just her inside.

"Hey babe, where is static at?" I asked her.

"He wasn't feeling good, so he wanted to go home. I'm just playing around in here." Serenity said to me.

"Oh shit well I hope he's straight." I looked around the studio scratching my arm. "So. What's the song your working on now?"

"I think I'm going to give it to Aaliyah. This would be really good for her. It's called 4 Page Letter." Serenity explained.

"Alright thats really cool, I will call her peoples tomorrow and she can stop by the studio." I said earning a big hug and kiss from Serenity.

"I get to meet Aaliyah!!." Serenity said.

We are at home and I was hungry although it was so late. Thankfully, Serenity said that she would cook us something quick to eat and I was down with that. I just got out of the shower and came out putting my boxers on.

"Here if your Ramon Noodles." Serenity told me walking in with two bowl handing me one.

"Thanks baby." I took the bowl and turned on the T.V. and I saw something about me and Serenity so I turn it up.

"The singer Serenity and Devante Swing from Jodeci are together? You will see them together and he was even there for Serenity when her dad passed away a few days ago." The reporter said.

After that I muted the T.V.

"How did they know about that?" Serenity ask out loud. "Shit you know what.. My family probably told them some shit. For some money." serenity continued now eating her noodles.

I didn't know what to say really.

We are eating and you could only hear our forks hitting the side of the bowls. But it was a peaceful. Nothing wrong with that. After we were done eating Serenity got up, took our bowls and rushed downstairs to wash them. I followed her to see if she was okay. She just seem a little down.

"You good?" I ask her.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired." Serenity told me.

"Okay baby, you know that you can always talk to me." I told her.

"Yeah, I know that." Serenity said.

I noticed she wiped tears from her cheek making me sigh.

"I know you miss your dad." I told her making her immediately turn around and give me a hug. She was now just crying into my chest and I just continued to rub her back for support.

"I'm sorry, I hate crying." Serenity said wiping her tears.

"Nah, you are good baby. I'm here for you." I kissed her forehead and held her close.

"Thank You." Serenity smiled sighing softly.
