You know that feeling?
That feeling where...your heart starts to soar, beating quickly and rapidly. That feeling when... you set your eyes on someone, and can't seem to take them off?
That was how Knockout felt when he had first set his eyes on her. Now, here she was, recharging comfortably in his arms, while Knockout was too flustered to move, or speak. Shifting in her sleep, the femme had been the most beautiful thing Knockout had seen. And it had been a long time since his spark had felt this way.
Not since Breakdown.
Knockout's spark still ached for him, burning with an anger against the wicked men who had brought such an unfortunate fate to him. The aching continued everyday, from the second he onlined in the morning, and all the way through his dreams, though he never showed it. It had ached all week, and all day, until now. Suddenly, the aching was dulled, nearly gone, and a new fire arose. One for this femme. As he stared at her beautiful face, she began to stir, moving around in Knockout's arms. She let out a groan, and her optics flickered on slowly. Staring into her flickering optics, Knockout swore he saw gold. No, that's impossible. All cybotronian's optics are either blue or red, not gold. But sure enough, when her optics fully onlined, they were a soft gold, which only added to her beauty. They looked like stars. As her eyes adjusted, the blurriness finally went away, as she looked around at her surroundings. Then, she looked up.
"Wahhh!" She yelled, jumping out of Knockout's arms, and landing on her aft. "Oof!"
"Are you ok? Knockout asked. She jumped at his voice, and flew straight up again, this time landing on her peds.
"W-who are you?" She asked. Knockout inched forward, and she inched back, and winced. That's when Knockout noticed a large gash in her right leg.
"Please, just calm down. Your hurt. "
"Where am I? Why were you holding me?" She continued to ask in a shaky voice, wobbling back farther each time Knockout stepped forward, wincing in pain. She held her servos out, defensively.
"I'm not going to hurt you." Knockout said, trying his best not to scare the confused femme. "Please, just calm down."
"G-Get away from m-me, you deception scum!" She stammered.
Knockout froze at her statement, forgetting that he was no longer one of them. Then, he remembered.
"I'm an Autobot, Au-to-bot! See?" He pointed at his red symbol on his arm.
"Yeah, right. Any 'Con could get a fake symbol. So, who are you? Shockscream? Megawave?" She asked, stepping backwards. Suddenly, her bad foot got lodged on a rock, and she tripped backwards, going flying into the pond with a splash. The sent under for a second, then came back up. The only part of her body that stuck out of the water was from her optics up. She glared at the mech. It took all of his strength for Knockout not to laugh. He took a step forward when he noticed the femme step back in fear.
"Please, just come out, let me help you." He took a step into the water, not even noticing. She hobbled back.
"You need help, please. Don't be scared, you don't have to be frightened of me, there's no reason to be."
"Yeah, other than the fact that I woke up in some stranger's hands, injured, in some place I've never seen before? Yeah, that doesn't sound sketchy at all." She stood up to her full height.
Knockout sighed, stepping forward again. The pond now reached to the top of his peds.
"I found you like this, you were unconscious. I was worried."
"Uh huh." The femme was now so deep in, the water reached up to her waist. "Likely story."
"Ugh, what will it take to make you believe me?"
"A whole lot more than you're made of, apparently." This made Knockout flush in embarrassment. The femme continued to step back as he stepped forward. The water was now to her chest-plate. She took a step back, and suddenly went under. She came splashing wildly up again. There was a drop off behind her, deeper than she had anticipated. She was trapped.
"Please..." Knockout took a few steps forward, starting to close the short space between them. The femme backed up as far as she could. Suddenly, Knockout tripped, sending him flying forward and toppling both into the drop off, sinking to the bottom immediately.
Knockout groaned and rubbed his head. As he opened his optics, he noticed that his head was propped up against something. As he lifted his head, he noticed that something to be the femme's neck cables. He jumped up immediately, the femme doing the same, both blushing a deep red, almost the same shade as Knockout's finish. The femme looked up to the surface. To high up to jump; giant mechanical autonomous robotic organisms don't exactly float. She turned to look at the mech, before taking a few steps back. Knockout transformed his servos into saws, and whirled them, the downward movement of water propelling him upwards. (Yes, I know this would never work in real life, but this is Wattpad, use your imagination)
As he broke to the surface, he noticed the femme was still at the bottom of the lake, with no way of getting back up. She sighed, and sat down, pulling her knees to her face-plate. Knockout sighed, and let himself sink back to the bottom.
"Get on." He motioned to his back.
"No Way!"
"Ok, then, I guess you'll just rust at the bottom of a secret lake where no one will find you." He started to rise back again.
"Ok, Ok, I'll go!" She walked up to him, cautiously, and wrapped her arms around his neck. Knockout blushed at the motion.
It was harder to get back up, with the added weight, but they were able to finally break through the surface, with the added help of legs kicking. As Knockout started swimming to shore, the femme still stayed latched onto him, and continued in this position until she could finally touch the bottom. She had felt a warmth being on this mysterious mech, a sense of safety, protection, kindness; something she hadn't felt in years.
As soon as they were finally out of the water, she jumped back again, still on the cautious side, wobbling to the side because of her injured leg. She winced.
"Really? After all that, you still don't trust me? You latched onto my neck, for Primus' sake!"
"I-I still don't know if your Autobot or Deceptico...woah!" She was cut off by the mech pulling her into his arms, one arm wrapped across her back, the other tipping her head up so her golden optics met his sky-blue ones.
"Look me into the optics, and tell me I'm a decepticon." He murmured. He wasn't sure what had gotten into him, but he wished it would get into him more often. The atmosphere was warm, safe; the surroundings melted away, and it was just them. They locked optics for a moment, staying in this position for what seemed like too short of a time for Knockout. She pushed away, sighing.
"Ok, Ok, your an Autobot, I admit it. But I still don't know who you are."
"My name is Knockout."
"Knockout, huh?" She murmured. "I kinda like it."
"What was that?"
"Nothing, nothing!"
Knockout smirked. "I never got your name."
The femme wasn't sure if she could trust this mech enough to give him her name. But, if he wanted to inflict harm, he would've done so already. Besides, he did save her spark. Also, he was quite handsome, and she felt a sort of comfort in seeing him.
"My name... is Nightstreak."
