three knocks at her door is what pulled brielle out of the very intense "the office" binge she was currently in. she paused the television and went to her front door silently planning exactly what she would say to kj, whom she suspected was at the door. however, when she opened her door it was not the boy she thought it would be, instead it was a curly haired one by the name of noah centineo.
upon seeing his face, the words brielle had planned to say to kj died in her throat and two other words began to ring her in my mind; those being, "oh no."
noah had yet to say anything to the girl, but she knew the exact reason why he was at her apartment right then. however, she still decided to ask him; sincerely hoping that there was a small possibility he wasn't there for the reason she thought.
"noah, what are you
doing here?"
brielle was immediately able to know the answer to the question by just seeing the look on the boy's face, and that's what made her heartbeat begin to quicken.
"i'm here to, um,
. . . just say hi?"
she felt so stupid in that moment; all of the words she said to kj about not messing up noah and claudia's relationship felt as if they just came
back and slapped her in the face.
