66/ Throwback!

REACTING TO SUICIDE FOREST OVERNIGHT VIDEO

I suggest watching the video before the reacting video or reading this chapter. Peace...

We walk into the garage. We're about to react to one of the scariest nights of our life. I'm in a send it hoodie and some sweats and I'm clinging to Colby for my life. We take a seat before Elton starts the camera. Jay sits in the back. On the couch is Elton, Brennen, me then Colby. I was terrified...

"Hello, everyone," Elton starts and we all wave at the camera "for those who do not know, we went to Japan, went to suicide forest and stayed overnight," Elton says. "Scariest night of my life, and I've almost died...more than once," I say and Colby squeezes my leg. "there's an entire video out about an hour long..." Elton said. "Just call it a movie bro," Brennen says. 

"Yep, it's a short film" I chuckle trying to lighten the mood...it doesn't help. Elton keeps explaining. "We spent the night there and a lot of... just... I would say crazy stuff happens but it's not because it was all expected" Elton reasons and we all agree. "Well most of it, well... no all of it" I decided. Elton continued to explain that people found stuff he didn't notice and we didn't notice while we were actually there. 

"I kept pulling Y/N and Colby in, while I was editing because a lot of weird things were happening" and I look at Colby, he registers the fear in my eyes and takes my hand in his. Elton pulled up the video. 

"I'm kinda scared, I don't know why," Brennen said. "cause it was the scariest night of our life!" Jay laughs and so do we. "Yeah, just ya know some creepy stuff happened almost like got lost, nah it was fine" I joke and they all chuckle. Elton clicks play. Instantly Colby finds bones. 

"straight away Elton comments, "I remember like, my heart dropped," Brennen said dragging his hand down his chest to imitate it. the boys talk about it then Colby speaks. 

"I remember I walk back and see-" he points to the screen "Y/N almost didn't touch me she was so scared," Colby says I hear my name but my eyes were glued to the screen.

"I thought that it was a child" Elton repeats this sentence again. "Me too," Colby says in the eeriest tone. "Cause you were closer," Elton says pointing to him. "Yeah and like, I thought I saw a skull" Colby adds. Brennen talks about how he was scared cause he has never seen bones before except normal chicken bones and I just remember the fear and when the camera turns to me I can see that fear is on my face. 

Colby then explains that there's no predator so why is there prey? then he starts talking about Skin Walkers. His explanation was that they are people or beings that can transform into animals and basically they are a sign of paranormal stuff like warnings almost. I straighten as I get chills. I already knew about them having A) watched teen wolf (though that's not really a trustworthy source) B) I research mythical creatures in my spare time so when he brought them up I froze. 

"I've actually been emailed by like, paranormal activity specialists. Who have said that what happens to the mich- which we'll see later- is actually a poltergeist trying to communicate with you," Elton looks at each of our faces. I'm already scared. I lean closer to Colby tugging on his hoodie. He looks at me and I look at the space between his legs and he nods. I stand up and move into that gap. Jay gives me a look that asks if I'm okay, I shake my head.

We get further into the video and Elton explains that the further in we go the worse the mich gets. Colby's arms rest on his legs but I very subtly start pulling them to me, moving his arm an inch every two or so minutes. "Rember the camera just turned off?" Elton asks, "Oh yeah, and the flashlights" Colby adds. "My uh, phone light wouldn't turn on remember?" I speak up. Jay hums in agreement behind me.  

Elton continues to explain the camera and mich were fine before and after...just not while we were in the forest. We get to the part of the video where we see the noose. 

"That's a noose, Jesus Christ" video Elton says. "Elton, quick pause for a sec?" I ask, he pauses it. "I always used to make jokes like, when people would draw death or nooses I'd joke like 'me too' or 'same' but I stopped or try not to because this video made me realize that it happens and seeing this real noose," I say. 

Brennen grabs my hand and everyone looks at me. "Yeah like normally we would have made jokes but not tonight nobody jokes around" Jay adds onto my comment. Elton clicks play again. Video Elton spots a snapped branch and then points to the noose. "I was so prepared to see a body right there," Jay says. "There's no way-" "yeah Brennen drags "-here's snapped branches and a noose" Jay finishes. Brennen leans back and talks. All four boys mention the fact we weren't even that far in. I sit and listen to what they're saying my eyes drawn to the paused screen. I don't blink. 

Elton goes forward a few minutes once the finish talking to when we start to find the ties and rope to follow. Colby wraps his arms around me and I hope he can't feel the fact that I'm starting to shake. I listen to video Elton. He calls Colby back and tells everyone to think about what is going on. 

"I'm telling you right now. this is common sense. We're going to find a body." My entire body jolts. Colby winces in pain and everyone looks at me then back at the video. video Elton points at the line of rope. "If you're leaving a line out, why would you cut it off?" Video Elton asks. 

Silence. Elton had paused the video and we all stopped and thought about it. I wiped my face down with both hands, Brennen and Colby lean back to think and Jay closes his eyes before opening them wide again. Elton looks at us all. 

"Mich starts getting worse, the fact that the line was closed off. The fact we'd already seen a noose, we'd seen an umbrella. We'd seen food, there was a tent back there, every single sign was like, we're going to see someone back there" Elton says. "Yeah," Colby says his voice dead. I ache for him to hold me tighter so I use my arms to push his into me. 

"it's weird even, watching it right now my heart is like-" Jake clenches his fingers together to mimic a beating heart. We all come in with comments explaining how we feel and Brennen looks at me. "you haven't said anything, you okay?" he asks. Colby shakes me the slightest my eyes water as I see the night in my head. "No," I say bluntly. "Why? Why does this affect you so much?" Jay asks. 

'Don't you remember?" I say like it was obvious, everyone but Elton shakes their head. "No?" Brennen says. Elton answers. 

"She was the first one to see the body."
