They continue to stare at me, like they are looking deep into my soul, to see what my markings could mean. My hatred grows for this person, but at the same time, they could answer my most asked question about myself, the black markings.
"So?"
"Child, you must understand, I know its only either navy or orange. If you were going to ask, no not black. I'm so sorry dear." Those words broke my heart in two. I'm furious. I had so many questions, but I knew they wouldn't have all the answers.
"I apologise dear, please, if you have any more questions, I will gladly answer them to make up for upsetting you." The words rung in my ears. I look up at their face tears forming in my eyes, not because I was upset, I was confused. I want to know what my black markings meant.
"May I ask one last time," I chime, pressure building up in my head, "what is your name? Please, I long to know." We sit in silence for a few moments, until they respond.
"My name? If that is the information you seek, I said I would gladly answer you. So my name. My name is Rayla." Rayla, I think to myself. What a beautiful name, it completely fits her entire appearance, white hair, lashes and eyebrows. Wait, white? I am so confused, even her skin is, well, white.
"Err, Rayla, was it? May I ask one last question, why-" she cut me off, can she read minds? I thought.
"I'm, unique just like you child. Not normal, that is why I live in the forest, with no one to taunt me. And yes, I can read minds. Normally it is referred to as telepathy, but what ever suits you dear." I was so intrigued, I wanted to know more.
"Can all angels do this?"
"Do you have markings too?"
"Can you fly, or not?"
"How old are you?" Thousands of more questions flowed through my mind, but I needed her to answer.
"Child, why so many questions, you just meet me."
"I'm so sorry Rayla, its just, well... I didn't know there were others like me, others that are, unique. Its all so new to me."
"I understand, now what questions do you have for me?"
"I thought you could read minds?" Confusion strikes my already confused brain.
"Yes, but I'd like to here the questions from your own mouth." Fair enough, I think. Now which question first.
"Well, I'd like to know if you have the Nijòry markings, if so, what powers do you have?" I am so ready for an answer, maybe she has a new power, one I've never seen before.
"Yes, I do have markings, on top of my right eyebrow and under the same eye. They are navy in colour, meaning I have the power of electricity." More questions grow in my head.
"So, you were chosen by the Goddess race?"
"Yes dear, but wether it is myth or not, I have the power of electricity and lightning."
"Why cant I see them?" I study her face closely, I can not make out any markings on her face.
"Wait and also, DID YOU SAY ELECTRICITY?" I am in shock, she said they have either orange or navy, but she just told me she can harness the power of electricity, and her markings are navy!
"Yes, electricity, and I know the power can be navy in colour, I'm unsure if it can be orange as well. Does that answer your question?" I take in that information.
"To answer your original question, I've covered them with a spell, just so there are no misconceptions about who I am. Now dear, I know you long to see my powers in use. I am more than happy to show you, but theres on last thing you should know."
