The Nijòry angels are a powerful race, being able to harness the power of water, ice, fire or nature, making others tribes afraid, resulting in their island being sealed off. With undiscovered markings, powers and strange angels and rivals, avenging...
I glance over at my spear, it seems... cleaner than when I first received it this morning. The fire makes my spear shine very brightly, it's beautiful. I long to learn how to properly use it, but I know I will never have the chance.
"You kept it safe for me?"
"Of course dear, anything for you. You are one of the nicest, kindest and most interesting girls I've ever to laid eyes upon. You are truly special Robyn." Does she really think that about me? How can I be sure? Rayla is so sweet, why would I ever want to have killed her in the first place, I guess I was scared.
"I could sense you were frightened before you hit the ground, and when my eyes meet yours for the first time, you could of hit me right in the heart with that spear, but after you stood there long enough, I knew you meant no harm."
"Wow Rayla, you've really touched my heart. You knew I was scared, even... I didn't know I was scared!" The more I think, the more I realise, I really have no idea how I feel.
"Oh Robyn that also reminds me." She walks back over to her bed, and out from underneath it, again, is another spear, but not just any spear, the legendary spear. Forged with fire, ice and electricity. Incredible! I think. I study it closely, though, I make sure of myself not to touch it, or else I could possibly die! The tip is long, sharp and sort of red in colour and takes up around a third of the entire spear.
Half way through the tip is bright golden glowing details with red hot marks in between, and red smoke oozing out. A small curved place to hold the spear was underneath, then comes beautiful striped icy lines, it shines like fresh ice and blue, cold smoke rose into the air. And the last section, is sparking gold electricity, shining like the sun, with sparks flying all over.
The spear glows so much brighter than when I first saw it, when I was trying to kill Rayla. When I first saw it, I had never seen it before, it was so different, unlike any spear I'd ever seen before in my life. And why is it so bright? I flash back to when I first encountered Rayla, she was holding that spear like a walking stick, it didn't glow as brightly as it was now. I remember thinking how she could of been a Druid, a powerful tribe of people said to be extinct for over one thousand years. But that wouldn't make sense, they don't carry spears, instead they use dark magic.
"Wow, I've never been so amazed in my entire life Rayla, how did you get your hands on this, more importantly.... how can you touch it?" I want to know all I can about this marvellous weapon.
"How come you recognise it dear, where have you seen it before?" She speaks firmly, like I am hiding something from her.
"You held it when I first saw you." I spoke the truth and nothing but the truth.
"Oh yes, now I can recall that. And Robyn, I am no Druid I promise you that child. They have not been seen for many millennia. Also if I was a Druid I would also be significantly taller than I am now." Her words stick in my head, is that what they really looked like?
"Rayla? Do you perhaps have any books on Druids, at all?" I want to know more, they sound like fascinating creatures.
"I'll have to have a look dear. I just might have an old one around here somewhere." She moves over to her large book shelf near the kitchen. I come up with more questions to feed my brain with knowledge.
"So Rayla, where did the spear come from, have you had it your whole life?" If she could touch that spear she must be so gifted.
"I'd rather not discuss that." A serious tone left her mouth, she has never sounded so serious before. Shes always so calm. But now she's angry, I know it... but saying the wrong thing would kill Rayla on the inside, I have to be careful.
"Has something upset you? I'm so sorry Rayla, I didn't kn-." She cut me off quickly, I could almost sense her anger.
"I told you child, I'D RATHER NOT DISCUSS THAT!" I take a deep breath in and take a step away from the book shelf. I am so, confused, why show me the spear and not answer my questions, of course I have questions, what is she thinking?
RAYLAS P.O.V
"So Rayla, where did the spear come from, have you had it your whole life?" My eyes widen in an instant, did Robyn really just asked that? I want to lash out all my anger on her, but she is just a child, and if I lash out, she would surely copy, meaning her powers would destroy us all. I just need to keep calm and take in a deep breath of fresh air. I can sense she means no harm, she just wants answers for questions she doesn't even have.
"I'd rather not discuss that." I say as firmly as possible, letting her know to never continue or bring up this conversation between us again. I know she is going to say something next, but I need to keep calm. She is like a daughter I never had, but at the same time... the feeling is mutual, she is a precious girl, I love her. But our time together is short, I only met her hours ago, yet we have some connection not even the goddess could explain.
"Has something upset you? I'm so sorry Rayla, I didn't kn-." I slam the book in my hand against the kitchen table, I'm losing it.
"I told you child, I'D RATHER NOT DISCUSS THAT!" I scream at the top of my lungs, losing my mind. Her eyes widened, she was frightened. She stood back, raising her hands showing she was innocent. I can feel her thoughts, shes confused, worried about me, about me. I'm in utter shock with my own behaviour. I drop to my knees, and collapse onto the floor, tears trickle down my cheeks.
"Rayla..." Robyn spoke softly
**************
I take in some shaky breaths, and settled myself down onto the couch.
"I need to the tell you about the spear child."
"Are you sure Rayla, willl you be okay telling me?" Concern lingered in her voice, she wanted answers, that I could provide.
"Yes dear." I begin with the story, the story of my life.
ROBYNS P.O.V
I watch as Rayla falls to the floor.
"Rayla..." I whimper, she's ever so upset.
She takes in some heavy and deep, yet shaky breaths, as she begins to sit herself up right. Rayla walks herself over to the couch and carefully sits down. She coughs a few times and speaks softly.
"I need to the tell you about the spear child." Im in shock, why now, why me? Why would she want to tell me after all that?
"Are you sure Rayla, willl you be okay telling me?" Concern softly leaves my voice, making sure she knows I am here for her.
"Yes dear." And she begins the story of her past, the story of her life.
