Rayla hands me some special, exotic berries to take home with me. The little berries are blue in colour, and smell like fresh bread, it was the strangest thing Ive ever seen. I am still shocked I even found Rayla. Even though I've flown through every inch of this island, it amazes me how she was able to hide herself from our entire civilisation for this long.
'The HUT at the edge! That must of been her!' I think.
"Child, best be on your way now, I will see you tomorrow."
"But I have so many more questions for you, surely I can stay a little longer? Please Rayla?" I want so many answers for questions and couldn't even begin to think of.
"I think I've answered enough questions for today dear, just come back tomorrow, and feel free to ask me more then, okay?" I felt angry, but tried to hide it away, I wanted to know all I could, but she was right, it had to wait. I rap up the berries in a leaf, and place them carefully into my pocket. I turn away and face the direction of the village.
"Thank you Rayla, you taught me so much, I would of never know of such power without you." I feel ever so grateful for Rayla.
"The pleasure is all mine Robyn, look after yourself child."
"I will." My voice was reassuring, which clearly makes her feel better. I look up to the sky, trying to make out the time, it seems to be around, ten thirty. Some small grey clouds are closing in on the island.
"Goodbye for now child." Her voice was soothing, I smile back at her and take of back toward the village. As I fly threw the clouds above the island, I could see in the distance, sky had small patches of grey heading toward the island, but the closer I look, the more I can see what is really heading in the direction of the island, the clouds were not grey, nor white. They are black, as dark as night. Stress drops over me, I fly back to the village as fast as my wings can carry me.
The last time the village had seen black clouds rising, the village was destroyed, a massive storm hit, some angels passed, almost all of our live stock was killed, and most buildings except the Concourse were destroyed from masses of wind, rain and more importantly, lightning.
As I neared the village, I get a gut feeling that someone would've spotted the storm, so I focus on something more important, Rayla. I take a sharp turn and fly back to where I last saw her, the berries fall out of my pocket, I try to catch them but miss, I watch as they go 'splat' on the floor. I can't worry about that, Rayla's life is more important right now, she could get me more berries if she was still alive.
Flying at high speeds for longer periods of time is quite a workout, though I continue to push on for Raylas sake. I near the last place I saw her and touch down on the ground.
"Rayla, Rayla... Rayla are you here?" My Concern grows for her as I continue searching the area. I spot her picking wild berries behind a large oak tree, I race over, stumbling over all over myself, I called out to her again.
"Rayla, Rayla, can you hear me?" I come up behind her and place my sweaty palm on her shoulder, I make sure not to frighten her. She does a slight jump, but at least I didn't give her a bad scare.
"Oh dear, you gave me a fright child, what seems to be bothering you, look at you! Your red hot, poor thing come back to my hut and cool yourself down, hmm?" I lower my head from exhaustion, and keep my hand on her shoulder, bending over to rest up upper half. I look up at her and nod my tired head.
"Good, lets go back, only a few minutes walk." She picks up my arm and placed it over her right shoulder, she is so soft, and her presence soothes me instantly. The walk back felt like hours, yet it was only two or three minutes. I was strained, but I feel as if it wasn't from flying, but because of my stress for Rayla, but I can not feel for her, I only just meet her, but she almost feels like a mother I never had.
