So I know this is a poetry book, but this is a cool assignment that I had and I thought it turned out kinda pretty.

Close your eyes and walk. The heat of the sun beats on your shoulders; a glow creeping through your body, warming from the top of your head to your bare toes on the ground. The wind swirls around your body, fluttering your shirt, its soft fabric brushing your bare arms. Little goosebumps form on your arms from innocent tingles the flapping fabric caused on your skin. Trees rustle in the breeze like musical shakers, a deafening noise, louder than even the thoughts in your head. The whooshing noise entangles the songs of the birds you hear coming from above your head. Melodious tweeting of songbirds, mixes with angry calls of birds of prey. Soft refrains swim in the breeze, in front, behind, above, and on each side of you; surrounding you with song. Taking careful steps, you move, bare heels crushing leaves beneath the soles of your feet, pebbles digging into the flesh of your heels. The ground changes texture below your toes. Rough gravel turns to a cushion of grass, cold and damp with dew, water droplets sticking to the hem of your pants. Your long arms outstretched, palms reaching the soft silk of flower petals. Hands brushing over flower after flower, an ocean of bouquets, a sea of delicate feeling flowers. Spread throughout the flowers you feel sharp plants, thorny stems, and smooth leaves. You continue moving forward, the path begins to feel steeper, you lean forward as you walk up. You start to hear a distant noise, almost like a running faucet. The further up the path you walk, the louder the sound becomes; you suddenly feel the ground even out, you almost fall forward after leaning as you walked up the hill. The sound becomes so loud, there must be water in front of your feet; the racket sounds like water gushing out over a rock, and crashing down below. You stand in place, listening to the sounds of the meadow. And your eyes flutter open, the glimmer of sunlight asking for your gaze.
