Day 1:
When the light shines in through my window, hitting the wall at just the perfect angle that I can see the lives lived outside of it laughter and words, shouting friendship and meetings and happiness until it curls around me like a blanket sure, at times the volume spreads through every cell in my body but no matter how often i wish it would quiet down, I don't want them to trade any moment of their lifetimes. I sleep with my shades as closed as I can, but with just enough streetlight shining through to remind me just how much life passes by my window.
Day 2:
hands that ghost over my rib cage, caressing and smoothing the waves that crash beneath my skin
bones made of brittle tree bark, cracking and creaking with every inhale and exhale
breath sounding of doors creaking open and shut, shuddering under the force of the wind
heart running laps, circling, racing, the revving of engines pounding my ears, shaking the earth shaking
hands that grasp the pillow, the sheets, noise cancelling, comfort seeping into fabric and air until the
quiet dissolves all. ribcage waves lowering tide, tree bark bones rehydrating, racecar heart braking slowly, drying
fabric comfort seeping through my bones inching until the ceiling looks like constellations my feet touch the ground
