Haley

It was the morning after the incredible beach day and Haley was feeling great.

Salt water and the sun really had that affect on her. Haley smiled as she cooked breakfast for Liza and David before they woke up as a favour for letting her stay at their house.

David was first to wake up and Haley served him eggs with bacon and black coffee just the way he liked it.

"Wow thanks, Haley," David said appreciatively.

He gulped down his breakfast and soon enough Liza was awake.

"I smelled the food so I came here to get some bacon," Liza said.

When Liza was finished her breakfast, she burped a tasteful burp.

"Nice one," Haley said.

"Why thank you."

It was around midday when Haley went to open the door since Liza and David were out on a date. Haley was the only person in the household.

She wasn't too excited when she saw who was at the door. It was Alex. This time Emily wasn't around.

"Hey Haley," Alex said awkwardly.

"Hi," Haley said not even bothering to invite him in.

"I came here to talk."

"David and Liza aren't home," Haley said and was about to shut the door.

"I came here to talk to you."

"About?" Haley asked.

"Us."

Haley sighed irritatedly, "you left that behind the moment you and Emily started dating."

"I know I did, but I realized something. I realized that I couldn't live with myself knowing I didn't at least try to get you back. If you could give me one minute to explain myself, that's all I need."

"You have one minute, Ernst," Haley said.

And so his campaigning began.

"I know I fucked up the second I got with Emily, but now I know why I did it in the first place. I did it because I wanted to fill that hole you made when you left me. I thought getting a new girlfriend would help me get over my heartbreak, but to be honest. Haley Reign, you are irreplaceable. I think I'd hate myself more than I'd hate you if you didn't say yes to being my girlfriend again."

Haley cursed herself for falling head over heels for Alex. She cursed his persuasiveness. She cursed him for being perfect.

Haley smiled very faintly at Alex.

"Fine, I'll be your girlfriend on one condition," Haley said.

"Anything."

"You break up with Emily."

"Done."

Haley let her smile take over her face and the couple embraced. Alex held onto her as if she were going to leave him again.

"I love you so much, Haley."

"I guess I love you too."

"You guess?"

"That's all you're getting for now, Ernst."
