Four Years Later

Haley

Haley and Alex were the perfect couple. They would have their occasional arguments as every couple does, but they always make up.

Nobody in the vlog squad or on the internet thought they would make it this far considering their fall with Emily.

They now lived in a house together which they split the bills. Haley graduated university, but perused a career in YouTube.

Today was their five year anniversary and Alex, being the romantic he is plans on taking Haley out on a date. He was bringing her to her favourite Chinese restaurant. It was quite fancy and pricey so they only went there once every year.

"To think it's already been four years with you," Haley said.

"Best years of my life," Alex said romantically.

They weren't usually the lovey-dovey type couple, they were more like best friends. But since this only happened once a year, they took advantage of it.

The waiter came with their main dishes and Haley looked at it almost drooling.

"I wish you looked at me like that," Alex joked and Haley giggled.

"I know we joke a lot, but I'm glad we have some alone time tonight," Haley said.

"I agree. The squad is awesome and all, but they can be a handful."

They laughed throughout the dinner and Haley could tell the people around her were getting annoyed. She didn't care as long as she was with Alex.

Haley's stomach felt like it was going to explode from eating too fast. She had to tone it down and drown it with some water.

"Haley, can I tell you something?" Alex asked.

"Go ahead."

"Alright," Alex inhaled and exhaled, "I don't mean to get all emotional, but I want us to be serious right now. From the moment I met you in the apartment I knew you were the real deal and that you were the woman of my dreams. You caught me with your smile and the way your face lights up the room. You have me wrapped around your finger, but I'm gonna be quite honest, I love it. They say nobody's perfect, but I doubt it every time I look at you. Tonight marks our four year anniversary and," Alex kneels on his one knee and at that moment, Haley knew what he was doing.

People were looking and pointing at them.

"Will you make me the happiest man on earth by being my wife?"

Alex was holding up a ring box with the most beautiful ring she had ever seen.

Haley couldn't believe that this was happening. She had received no clues about Alex proposing to her.

Haley couldn't find her words so she just nodded her head vigorously. Finally she collected the ability to utter words again.

"Yes!" Haley wrapped her arms around Alex.

The people around them who witnessed the proposal clapped for them. This was a dream come true.

Just then, David appeared next to them with a camera. Of course he was here to film this, he would never miss out on some good content.

"Congratulations!" He said to Haley and Alex.

"Thank you!" Haley said. Alex's arm was still around her shoulder.

Haley pressed her lips against Alex's and they kissed passionately even in front of the camera. At that moment, Haley didn't care.

She didn't care because she was now Alex's fiancé. A dream come true.
