Taehyung—
I panted, really wishing that I'd gone to the gym more often, instead of binging on snacks, as I hurried out of the elevator; backpack draped over my elbow, and my suitcase grasped in one hand. In my haste to run out of my dorm building, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings, and slipped on a patch of ice, on the ground. Accepting my fate of a very painful fall, I squeezed my eyes shut, and braced for impact.
"OW THAT HURT LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING BITCH!" I squealed, when the pain shot through my body. Groaning, I slowly, with a shitload of cursing, managed to pick myself off of the ground, and gathered my things together, before rushing, more carefully this time, to the student garage. Quickly, I loaded my car with my things, and got into the icy cold compartment. "Shit, shit, shit, shit," I cursed, through chattering teeth, and reached over to turn the heater all the way up.
I pressed my legs together, and pulled my fingers inside of my jacket, trying to draw as much heat as possible, as I waited for the engine to warm up. After being tortured for about three minutes, I retracted out of my shell, and sighed in relief, when my exposed skin met hot air. I turned the heater down a little bit, and pulled out of the garage. I sang a popular song, that was playing on radio, under my breath, tapping on the wheel with my fingers, not really thinking of anything.
I was heading home to spend Christmas with my parents, and have some well needed family bonding time. It's been a long first few months of school, and I definitely needed the break. Yawning, suddenly, I remembered that I haven't gotten my daily morning coffee yet, and stopped at the nearest shop, on my right. Quickly, I ran into the café, trying to beat the cold blast of air from making it past my layers of clothing. In two strides, I was at the front of the line, since there weren't that many people out today. After giving my order, the barista glanced up, and narrowed their eyes at me. "You're Kim Taehyung, right?" They asked, whilst calculating my total. I nodded, frowning. "Do I know you?" I peered at the name tag, which had TEN printed in bold letters, and shook my head. "Yeah, uh, so how do you know me?" I asked, handing over my credit card. Ten accepted the card, and swiped it, before handing it back to me.
"You're actually kind of infamous, at the university," the silver-haired male grinned. (a/n: I loved silver-haired Ten. Baby Don't Stop was his era) I raised an eyebrow, at the statement, "infamous how?" Ten shrugged, as he wrote my name on the cup, and passed it to his coworker, a petite girl with blonde hair, and long legs. "Well, everyone knows Jeon Jungkook, and everyone knows that you guys are friends now. Right?" I nodded, slowly, still perplexed to why he brought this up in the first place.
Ten sighed, and nodded his head, to the right, where the seats near the windows were located. "Look, since you two are pretty close now, can you tell Jeon to either drink his coffee, or leave? He's been sitting there for the past two hours, staring at nothing, and totally ignoring the masterpiece I'd made him. I'm pretty sure his poor drink has gotten cold by now, and I really have no idea how to approach him." Startled, I whipped my head towards the window area, and just like Ten said, there was the younger staring at the wooden walls of the café, his drink sitting idly on the table beside his phone.
"What happened this time?" I murmured, wearily, rubbing the skin between my eyebrows, distressed. I accepted my coffee from Ten's coworker, and strode over to Jungkook's table, sitting in front of him. When the latter didn't react, I leaned forward to flick his forehead, lightly, causing him to hiss in pain, and send me a glare. "What was that for?" The younger demanded, hand still over his forehead. I rolled my eyes, and took a sip of my coffee. "I didn't even hit you that hard. Now, tell me why you're sitting here, like you've been told that the Earth's flat, and you just realized that it's round."
Jungkook seemed to deflate at my words and averted his eyes, to look at the black screen of his phone. "It's nothing, hyung." Shaking my head, I snatched the younger's phone, and opened it, discovering that he hasn't changed his pin number yet, despite me hacking into his device, before. "Hey!" The aforementioned protested, and grabbed his phone back, but it was too late. I'd already read the message.
"Kookie, your dad's out?" I whispered, the nickname slipping off my tongue, as if second nature. Jungkook stared at me for a long time before nodding dejectedly. "I don't want him to find me, hyung," the younger murmured, suddenly seeming smaller than he really was. My heart broke into a million pieces, as I reached across the table to take his hands in mine. "Why don't you come home with me this Christmas?" I offered, softly. Jungkook's eyes flitted to my face, hope passing over his features, in a fleeting second, before plummeting back down. "I don't want to burden you. You're supposed to be spending time with your family. I shouldn't be getting in the way of that."
Rolling my eyes, I stood up, and yanked the bigger male to his feet. "You're coming home with me, and that's final." Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, "Tae..." I grinned at the nickname, and tugged on his hand. "Come on. I'll drive us back to your dorm, and you can pack your things. My parents will be delighted to finally meet you, Kookie." That only deepened the younger's frown, but I didn't let that stop me from dragging him out of the café, and shoving him into the passenger seat of my car.
"Stop worrying so much, you big baby," I teased, pulling out of the parking lot. "I'm not a baby," Jungkook retorted, buckling his seatbelt. I rolled my eyes, and stopped at a red light. "Says the guy who got excited over an IU album," I grinned, and stepped on the gas, when the light turned green. "IU is a fucking artist, and anybody in their right mind would be excited for her albums," Jungkook grumbled.
"Awww, you cutie!" I gushed, pulling into the student parking outside of Jungkook's dorm. The younger sent me a chilling glare, to which I returned with a wide smile. "Come on, you can't deny that you are just oh so adorable!" The other male pointed a finger at his chest, with an incredulous expression on his face. "The delinquent is adorable?" I nodded, enthusiastically, and unbuckled my seatbelt. "Who knew right?" I got out of the car, and headed to Jungkook's side, opening the door for him. "Come on, you," I huffed, pulling on his arm, which did nothing to move the other. The younger smirked, and got out of the vehicle, almost smugly. I shut the door, not able to contain the wide grin overtaking my face.
"Come on, Kookie. Get to packing! I'll show a Christmas you'll never forget!"
